Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
moxxey: Beolab, this is the version we all have installed and is the reason behind the thread. Apparently there is a new sw (need to speak to my dealer on Monday) which is being tested internally, which was offered to me by my dealer when I was away.
Yes i know, but not all people/dealers now that you need to install the H8 software separately! It´s not updated if your dealer only update the software to 4.24a! The dealer / service guy most update this manually in the Service Tool MK II.

Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
I wonder how they figure their revision references? ie. the jump from a v4.xx to a v5.xx should be 'significant'. If not, they ought to progress through 4.3x, 4.4x, 4.5x etc.

Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
Please note that sw 4.24a is the 'current' release for BeoSystem 3. Software 5.2.4, 5.2.5 and 5.2.6 are versions for the Service Tool (mk2) - and that 5.2.5 never was released and 5.2.6 was released September 18th. Most here are looking for a fix for BeoSystem 3, and not the Service Tool itself. Roger

Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
i dont know i am geting sick of the lack of info provided, i was told by my dealer that the technical guys have said that its fixed who am i to argue? i have just called my dealer and said i am annoyed with the mix match of info i am getting and he started up his laptop and read me the release notes that come down with the newest service tool. currently 5.34
Service tool mk 2 realase notes 5.23 - correction for bv-7-40 mk3 beosystem 3 5.24 - correction to bv7-40 mk3 beosystem 3 5.26 - correct to BV4 (no idea about what this fixes)
i am waiting for this to be installed then i will know more but as i say im only going on the info i am being given

Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
But these corrections are for the Service Tool Mark II - to make it work smoother. To add to the info you provided: ServiceTool MK2. |

del {color:red}The Bang & Olufsen ServiceTool MK II has been updated to version 0.5.2.6. (18.09.2008). Use the “Update application” button in the lower right corner of the ServiceTool to update via server connection. A brief outline of the changes is given below: Service Tool MKII version 0.5.2.6 | | | | · | PUC table update for BeoSystem 3, BeoVision 4, BeoVision 7 and BeoVision 9 |
| | | | · | Improved tips/instructions for BeoVision 4 ACM | | · | Added decoder (remember to update additional files) |
Service Tool MKII version 0.5.2.5 (Not released) Service Tool MKII version 0.5.2.4 | | | | · | BeoVision 8-26/32 software build 109 (can only be added on build 77/37) |

This is something totally different than the BeoSystem 3 software updates - the release info on sw 4.24a for the BeoSystem 3 is: White flash, picture Format changes, CD muted too long, stand problem - software update to version 4.24a |

do you think that the problem might not be 4.24 but a problem with the flashing of the software ie a problem with the service tool causing 4.24 to not be installed properly as i hear there are loads of peopel with my set up and only a few people are getting the problems, so maybe the service tool problem causes the whole issue.

Do you have the factory installed PUC list or did the dealer create and flash a list for you ?

Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
ok my TV is being updated tommorow with the new software and using the new Service tool. i will post all stats after 1030am GMT once the update has been done and then we can begin to see if the update has fixed the issue with the STB acting very strange and the TV crashing randomly. Looking forward to it working "finers crossed"

Well, since i bought a BV4 instead of the BV7, i have not had the tv crash once, and the BS3 is also running 4.24a, so it is very strange what happens with the BV7 and 4.24a, i hope the best for you. /Weebyx

Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem
My BV7-40 MarkIII "crashed" yesterday again. I went in the Service menu and checked what error code it was when it crashed. It said "Watchdog reset". Does anybody of you know what this is?

The software fix is NOT available yet...SW 5.00 will be available very soon (this month) and willl fix a lot of problems, I believe the switching off when using a third party product connected via HDMI should be one of the fixes...

When using Sky HD connected via HDMI you most connect a skart lead also for control purposes. Software 5.00 WILL be available very soon - believe me!
