    Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem

I'm still waiting for the Sky HD  link room issues to be solved, which were introduced with sw 5. Funny how it takes months for these bugs to be resolved - it was early November when I had sw 5 installed. No info from my dealer, nothing from B&O either.

    Hi all,

Finally got an update out of BeoCare on this. An update to 5.02 will be released "hopefully" next week. Apparently it is already available to customers who are struggling badly with the problems on HDCP issues already via an engineering RC release. I asked to wait for the GM version on the basis that if the released versions are this bad then the RC versions were likely suspect.

Anyhow, hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. Finally a TV that does exactly what is says on the tin after 14 months.

My experience with BeoCare and calling the UK office made me wonder if this was a proper business. I truly sympathise for the franchised dealers who seem forced to burn their margins by dealing with issues that B&O should take more responsibility for.

Must say, that given the choice this would likely be my last B&O purchase. For a company selling luxury products, they need to better understand how to manage the customer experience.

Any how - I will try to look at the positive aspect of this - V5.xx will turn my opinion around. Just a few days and counting.

    Best, Mark.

im sorry to hear its been this bad for you and i understand as i have been a loyal customer for years until this point my tv has stressed me out no end

i must say i have had 5.02 for about 2 months now so your info is a little dated as noraml from beocare.

the customer service is terriblre from them and almost insulting.

    Hi Seanklemis,

Sorry I meant to say that 5.x will be released next week - which is an update to the current 5.02 version. This new version (lets call it 5.1 - but they did not say what rev it was.) included all the fixes for the Sky HD box. Standby for the new download.

    Best, Mark.

No, that's wrong. We're on sw 5.xx since November. Indeed, I had sw 4.17 installed about this time last year!

Do you mean your BV turns off SKY HD when it wants and sometines it doesn't turn it on? It doesn't say anything about it. Maybe you have the connections menu not right configured.

    Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem

    hi there

i hear that 5.08 is the update that allows you to use SKY HD without the scart lead that had to be connected again after the update 4.24a.

if i remember 4.24 casused issues with crash and sky hd needing a scart.

quite a few people have had their sky box turn off randomly since 5.02 and some times it does not switch on.

this shoudl be resolved in this software also the scart lead can be removed i am told.

    also

there will be a new item in the PUC list for SKY HD no longer using pace sky + it shoudl be thompson HD i believe.

    You are right, Sean

There is a STB called Thomson Sky HD that can be added in your PUC list.
