    Re: Your latest purchase?

    Hi again!

Guess what! Last week I bought something again and I recieced it today! Big Smile I have bought a MPAV 9000 for my AV9000!  But I sadly still have to buy a MasterLink cable before I can start using it. I am also going to buy a wall bracket for it as I have planned to mount the MPAV on the wall next to my sofa. I will post a picture when I have finished the installation.

I was borned with a Beolink 1000 in my hand!

    Chris:

What the best way to connect this to our Beovision 7-40 mk3 in an adjacent room? Is their a radio/IR Masterlink or is it yet more cables?

You could buy a pair of beolink Wireless 1's and do it that way. Not cheap though! It is a neater option than running cable if you can't hide it! Cable is more robust, but I have not had problems with the Wireless 1 although others have!

Take a look at my little project - link

    Hi,

You can use the normal masterlink cable but you have to make a short circuit between pin 4 (ML sense)and 12 on masterlink socket in MP AV9000 stereo

that have bin done in struer from serial number 10822537.

Can anyone confirm, that this will work? Cause then I'm going to make that operation (If the Serial Number is lower than 10822537)! when I'm opening the MPAV 9000 sometime to adjust the doors. Smile

    A pair of S120's.

Actual condition is worse than the photo's suggest so some work required here methinks...

    Leslie:

Holy crap Chris, that's a challenge!

Bigger than you could imagine. One of the Bass drivers wasn't working but thanks to a tip from Martin (detached flexible wire to the voice coil which required some pretty painstaking dismantling & resoldering) at least that is now fine.

The usual refoaming will be next followed by a recap.

Then some of the retaining pegs are missing from the frets which I'll need to "re-manufacture" so to speak.

Finally the cabinets - I haven't yet decided on a course of action. They have been allowed to get damp which has caused the bottom joints to swell & part. That's before I even consider any remedial repolishing, but rest assured I'll get there.

    Chris.

    Re: Your latest purchase?

Chris I could use all retaining pegs for my Beovox M150 covers. All 4 of them in total. They are all broken.

So if you find a solid solution please send a pm. My CDX still works since you did lefthinge some years ago.

I'm glad my Beovox S120 only had rot and my Bevox M150 are scratched but not deep. I do hope you do a thread with clear instructions on the rebuild of yours.

Anyway congratz when finished you are in for a treat.

I think I once read about somebody making them from plastic wall plugs. Find a suitable size, cut to length and epoxy in. Even available in black if you look around Smile

For repairs to the broken front grill pins, I've seen wooden dovel pegs used instead.
Remains of the old pins removed and ground down, dovel pegs glued to the grills and painted black.
    Worked fine.

I did something like that with M70s, though I didn't paint the dowel.  I reinforced the joint by "pinning" it.

This is the method I've used before using plasterboard plugs with the expanding ends cut off & shaved slightly, a bit hard to explain without pictures. Done properly there's a method to also screw these onto the post seats to ensure a really good fix. I'll probably post something in the workbench section as this restoration progresses.
