Re: HDMI EXPANDER FOR BV7
Perhaps a silly question, so please excuse my ignorance. If this HDMI Expander is used on a e.g. BeoVision 7 or BeoCenter 6 and e.g. an HD box is connected via an HDMI cable, can this source then be viewed in a link room? I know the source can be viewed in a link room if the HD box is connected via scart, but what if it is connected via HDMI through this HDMI Expander (or any other DVI->HDMI converter)? I think the HDMI Expander is the extension I need, but I have no use of it if it means that I cannot view the connected sources in my link rooms. BR, Lars.

Re: HDMI EXPANDER FOR BV7
You'll probably have to connect both the Scart AND the HDMI from the STB to the BV7. I have not read the expander would work with BV6, can someone confirm? DVI does not carry sound, so the Scart connection is probably compulsory anyway. p.

Re: HDMI EXPANDER FOR BV7
I have been told today that Bang & olufsen are not goign to supply this unit now. Also i pose a question, if the expander switches between hdmi 1-4, where does the stereo sound come from as dvi does not use sound. so if for example you have a sky box you need to use HDMI for picture, optical for Dobly and then also scart for stereo sound. this solution is not sounding such a good idea now.

Re: HDMI EXPANDER FOR BV7
I hope this isn't the final decsion from B&O as I believe this product is needed to make the BV7 'more future proof'. Having to have SCART, HDMI and Digitial Coax connected for COAX is no different to how it is connected now. Does this come down to PCM again? Greg

B&O is recommending a specified 3rd party hardware and has released software chip for beo4 integration-requires engineer installation. More details later Vince

Is the expander the only way to upgrade a BV7 40 mark ii to mark iii?

Re: HDMI EXPANDER FOR BV7
The 3rd party hardware are Gefen 4:1 switch and Gefen 1:2 splitter and the guide post in this thread should be used to register HDMI expander. Had a quick look on internet and they arenn't cheap. TV software should be 7.7 or higher. May get installer to sort this out! Vince

Re: HDMI EXPANDER FOR BV7
hi there buddy no one knows about sound yet i dont think unless we have to use a scart lead stil., i think this thing is a bit of a pie in the sky idea at the mo. no one really knows anything and Bang & Olufsen do there normal trick of saying nothing.

Unless already mounted you need a new scaler board and software, both included in the HD-ready kit, Type 4370, part no. 1437000 Niveau:How do I go to the service menu... Would like to test my movie option
