Yup, it has its own amp, and it is very high quality, perhaps a bit too lively and dynamic. The line out connector is 5 pin DIN, and really it isn't good enough quality, you do notice the differance when you take the line output through another amp of similar power to the 2000K own amp. This is just down to the leads and connectors. If the connectors

You can also look at the older paper cone speakers, especially those with a latex/paper surround. This gives way after many years of use, most folk are surprised to find they can be repaired, but you cannot replace the surround with rubber. Reason for this is that these old paper cone speakers work in a slightly differant way, and they need surrounds

I can never understand such folk, presumably he has spent ££££££, probaly tens of thousands, and if he is so concerned with musical fidelity, that money would be far better spent attending live events, after all you cannot improve on the original sound sourse.

Generally speaking, it is not considered to be a good idea to do this if you are used to drving yout amplifier very hard. The reason is that you could end up going to the limitds of the amplifier and the result is DC being pushed into the speakers. That said, you really would have to be pushing the amp right to the limits and somewhat beyond. If your

I installed it once, soon deleted it - rubbish. Found it much better to use a Winamp skin with large buttons with a touchscreen monitor Maybe it works better with the BEO4 remote and the Beoport - never cared to find out.

Now that I don't know, the only amp I believe that was capable of that in the B&O range was the Beolab5000

Almost certain to be the crossover capacitors - worth paying for solid state ones in these speakers, but it'll cost you plenty to do it this way, you could use bipolar electrolytics, a lot cheaper, just make sure the voltage rating can handle it.

Depends upon the country. If you are in the UK, then Wembley Loudspeakers will do them, expect to pay around £100 all in, they've done a couple of difficult ones for me, a pair of Type K woofers and a pair of Type S woofers - both with full paper cones. (PS I am very proud of the Type S as they are rare in the UK and they turned out well)

PM me with your address and I'll send one.

These can be refoamed by you if you buy the parts, its fairly straightforward. You could als give Wembley Loudspeaker a call, they've done a couple of jobs for me, both which were pretty awkward to do, but they made a good of of them.
