I had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago, green light and all.
I found that if I wiggled the wire near the DIN plug, I could make it come on. This led me to think it was a dry solder joint, so I (blindly as I am not a techie) pulled the whole thing apart and resoldered all the joints near the socket. Voila! Fixed speaker! ...
...for about a year
Can't trust it now. When showing off my equipment, I have to apologise if the left speaker cuts out.
Before you do anything, swap the speakers over and see if the problem follows the spoeaker. It may just be a cable or DIN plug fault.
