HELP! one of BEOLAB PENTA TYPE 6623 is not working

I have two BEOLAB PENTA TYPE 6623 speakers with Beosystem 5500.

Few days ago, one of the penta speakers stoped working (NO SOUND AT ALL) but the amp lights up green when connected...and stays green when other speaker is working.

What is wrong with my speaker? I know it is an old speaker but the sound was great... =(

Re: HELP! one of BEOLAB PENTA TYPE 6623 is not working

    Welcome to BeoworldSmile

I had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago, green light and all.
I found that if I wiggled the wire near the DIN plug, I could make it come on. This led me to think it was a dry solder joint, so I (blindly as I am not a techie) pulled the whole thing apart and resoldered all the joints near the socket.  Voila!  Fixed speaker!Smile ...

    ...for about a yearSad
Can't trust it now. When showing off my equipment, I have to apologise if the left speaker cuts out.

Before you do anything, swap the speakers over and see if the problem follows the spoeaker. It may just be a cable or DIN plug fault.
    Keep us informed, eh!
