  • Re: Beocenter 1 issue

thanks, I found in a Forum that it might be the capacitors from the power supply board indeed. I called the B&O service center. They'll tell me how much it costs to change the whole electronic piece. As I suppose it'll cost a lot I'll have to see if there is a fix to the power supply...

  • Beovox s45-2 restoration( With bonus "Paen" to Beogram 4002)

I'm in need of some advice on restoring a pair of Beovox s45-2's, but before I ask my questions, I'd like to say how much I've enjoyed reading through this site and following the conversations of people who admire the B&O line of products as I've begun to in the last couple of...

  • Re: Sparking between head-shield and backplate on Beocord 1600

Well, I have some good news and some good news on the sparking (and capacitor) front(s). I finally solved the sparking issue. When I first retrieved the 1600, the aluminium cover panel (the brushed plate surrounding the tape turntables) had the two brass locating pins pulled out of their retaining holes...

  • Re: Beocord 1600 : Magical missing capacitors!

Thanks casdave, that's exactly what's happened. The tants (especially on the preamp boards) have long since turned into, er, dynamic resistors. I changed the two in the preamps, and the hum and crosstalk disappeared from the preamps. I've just got around to getting a big bag of good quality...
