Hello Norbert I am confused by your post. 8340238 is the B&O part number for IC3 on the CPU board, namely a 6500/1 MASTER. IC4 on the CPU board is a 6500/1 SLAVE and has B&O part number 8340239. What are the symptoms of the problem? I have had two BM8000 with faults with the tuning not working (confusingly not working in different ways) and

I had a good trawl through the literature and websites I could find but I could not determine at which point B&O introduced a product allowing FM and then FM Stereo reception? Furthermore, once introduced, did it become standard on all new products?

I have recapped/repaired 4 of these beasts and they are indeed very fiddly. If it is cosmetically good then it is worth doing but you will need to find someone local as I would not like to put one through the postal system...

Hello Lisa and welcome to Beoworld, Any CD-R should work with a Beocenter 9000. If you have burnt a CD-R and it won't play then the issue is in the Beocenter. The CD mechanism needs new capacitors. I have two BC9000s and they both needed new capacitors before they would play CD-Rs. I am fairly sure that CD-RWs will never work in a BC9000. Richard

Hi Emmaz I am sure Martin will correct me if I am wrong but I think you will only light the Stereo lamp if you are switched to radio and find a station broadcasting a stereo signal. The lamp is illuminated by the stereo decoder and will not light for other inputs. Richard

Martin I have restored more BM8000s than anything else!! In the first fault the tuner appeared stuck at 87.5MHz. However, in manual tuning mode if you span the tuner dial the tuning would suddenly start to increase but you could not control it and it would just race up to 108MHz. You could briefly hear each channel as it passed through. It became obvious

I would agree with Martin on the sensitivity and quality. However, I have now restored 8 BM8000, and I had tuner issues on two of these. In both cases it was a faulty prescaler chip on the CPU board which is essentially part of the tuner circuit. Maybe I was just unlucky...

Does one of our members really have a supply of new beocenter hinges? If so then I'm in the market for two of them....

I am looking for a u264b to repair a BM8000. They appear to be obsolete but a few sites tell me that a u664b will also work (same functionality but will work to 1GHz). Does anybody know if they do work as a replacement? I have found a site in Germany that has one original in stock but he needs a minimum order of 10 euro and I am stuggling to find anything

Will upgrading to the latest STB-C eeprom (4.01 ??) which contains several Humax entries give me any support for a Humax or any other Freesat box?? Regards Richard
