  • Re: BV7-40 II and Sky HD - Pause When Entering Chanel Numbers....

    >>> Check that Scart control is set to "ON" in the Sky box set up menu. Bingo! That solved the problem. I assumed that all commands from the BV7 were sent to the Sky+ HD box through IR, but it seems that numbers are passed most reliably over SCART. I still don't understand why the delay occurred, though; surely it'd either

  • BV7-40 II and Sky HD - Pause When Entering Chanel Numbers....

Hi All, I have my BeoVision 7-40 Mk II connected to Sky HD with DVI and co-ax audio as well as a SCART cable. I have the IR sender to the Sky HD box, and use both my Beo4 and Beo5 remotes with this setup. Everything works exactly as advertised, but when I type channel numbers in manually there's a pause of up to 30 seconds before the numbers are

  • Re: Living With A UK BV 7-40....

I'm glad you're getting on OK with your BV 7-40 MkII - unfortunately, I already have 3 HD sources that I'd like to use, and I think Santa might be bringing me a Wii sometime soon (although that's 480p component at best, and I'll probably use RGB SCART). I think I'm leaning towards the Gefen HDMI switch option at the moment. Does

  • Living With A UK BV 7-40....

Hi All, I'm interested to hear how other people have managed the limited HD connectivity of the Beovision 7 Mk II. We've had our BeoVision 7-40 Mk II, on the beautiful motorised floor stand, for about 3 years now. We have Sky+ HD and a Samsung BDP-1600 BluRay player, and also an AppleTV. I am, however, increasingly frustrated at the poor connectivity

  • Re: 3rd Party IR Capture and XML Generation using IRSCOPE

Keith, Thanks very much for your reply and offer of help! I think I've solved the problem, though. Fairly predictably, it wasn't anything to do with either IRSCOPE, the config tool or your (excellent) XML generator! I was 'translating' the IRSCOPE .ict files in Excel, and then copy-pasting into a text editor. When I did this, the resulting
  • 3rd Party IR Capture and XML Generation using IRSCOPE

All, I've had my BEO5 for a couple of weeks now, and I've been trying to get it to directly control a couple of 3rd party products (a Scientific Atlanta HD DVR and a Samsung Blu-Ray player). I've been using a USB IR sniffer to capture remote codes, translating the raw captures to Lintronic raw format, and then using the XML generator to
  • Re: Powerlink Cable Problem

Thanks for your responses. I've read the technical article; I didn't know the differences between Mk1/2 and Mk3 Powerlink cables. Will my Lab 4000s work properly with a Mk 3 cable? I'll make up some new cables to the Mk3 spec and try them again with the Lab 3s! Regards, Simon.

  • Powerlink Cable Problem

Hi All, I've just moved into a new home and am installing my Beolab 3s and Beolab 4000s. I've made up some Powerlink cables using some 8-pin DIN connectors and some Cat7 SSTP ethernet cable that I already had. The cables carry audio nicely, but the speakers don't turn themselves off when I power down my sources. I found some advice on an

  • Re: Using a UK BV7-40 in the USA...

I've been in touch with Russ at Tyson's Corner B&O in Washington DC - he thinks that the power supply on the BV7-40 Mk III US is 110-120V only, so I don't think buying a US screen to bring back to the UK will work. I'm still investigating and haven't given up hope yet! He also mentioned the BV7-40 Mk IV being available 'this

  • Re: Using a UK BV7-40 in the USA...

Hi All, Thank you all very much for your detailed replies. I really liked the suggestion of selling my UK display and buying a US one - until I noticed that you're the manager of the Broadway B&O store! You _clearly_ have a lot in common with my local B&O sales staff! Only kidding - I really appreciate the advice. I have wondered about upgrading
