Yes indeed. There are a number of ways of distributing video signals, including HD. RF "video senders" are rather prone to interference,as mentioned here, but very convenient as no cabling is required. The most robust method currently seems to be distribution via Cat 5 type data cable, whereby the signal is adapted by modem at each end of the

Very common for the tuner module to fail in these sets. There was a mod kit available that used an improved device, but it was quite expensive.Sometimes you can repair the module if you are confident soldering? A dealer may well have a spare panel assembly,or even be prepared to replace the panel on a part exchange basis, sending the old panel back to

Could be the capstan motor, although they are not so troublesome as on the '7000 as they were on the '5000/5500! Some common probs with these machines are: The transport clutch base assembly,a special part only available from B&O. The turntables. These use photo reflective rotation sensors that become worn and send confusing signals to the

you need to get the set to someone with more experience.Sadly the dealers are only geared up it seems, to replace modules, and they are simply not made an y longer. It may indeed be the laser at fault, but there are many other causes of this type of fault. Whereabouts are you?

I think from memory,if the sat kit is disconnected, you can program one of the Scarts for an external sat kit.The Beosat RX would work with this set too. Yes,the LM kit connects via several multi connectors that fit into labled sockets. I have a spare working kit here, fitting notes and service manual. Nick

Cripes, thats the only cap I've never replaced in these amps!! You can get a suitable replacement from Farnell,No 471471,not sure about the dimensions, there is very little room for fitting as you know.Best to replace them both I guess. Not cheap ! Regards, Nick

I got some of this "Beogoo"(Kilopoise) from RS Components here in the UK.Small tube too

30mV across both resistors,15mv across each.Clip your meter leads on to avoid shorts, and set the current with no speaker connected.Don't forget to set 'tother pot for zero dc across the output. If the thing won't set up,you may have ripple in the stand'by supply, best to replace ALL the caps!! Regards, Nick

Indeed ! I'm intrigued too. Nick

It should be just Satellite, then the channel No etc. Allthough you can see a module is fitted,it may have been disabled to allow the connection of an external satellite box such as Sky etc. If you are technical,I can send you some fitting notes for the module, and you can check it out. Analogue satellite broadcasts are still availble from Europe, until
