  • Re: I this genuine or fake: New MP3 player

The black is too shiny to be B&O (the serene etc are more matt) The silver is too matt to be B&O (the BS2 etc are shiny or brushed) Overall though, it's a brilliant design and I would probably go for it, except that the battery on something that size/shape would be be either too small or custom and stupidly expensive. Also, I doubt you could

  • Pre-amp? So difficult?

Really, I totally get why B&O don't make another BeoGram. I understand that there's not a business case for making something to play vinyl, much as many of us would like a new system. The thing I don't get is why they can't just stick a preamp in a current system? A Phono socket wouldn't involve too much and it's not as if

  • Re: MCP 5500

I suppose you could maybe build a MCP into a table, wall, piece of furniture etc and wire it to the mains and a transformer. I've always thought it might be cool to have one built into the wall when you got into an apartment

  • Re: beosystem 5500

I had the same problem for ages before I worked that one out. As far as I can tell, the Timer Off means that one of the sets of speakers are muted when you set the timer (ie for if you wanted your 5500 to only pipe music into you bedroom in the morning, not your living room) It seems a silly way to "say" it though. 'Timer Mute' would

  • Re: Random sampling, or is B&O's way do-able?

Might be totally wrong, but I would have thought they maybe just ran a separate production line with a tighter set of specifications. Running one costs more money (due to more expensive tooling and also rejects) but obviously this is not as large a concern for B&O

  • Re: Product Dimensions

T'was were I looked. Having done a lot more delving, a lot of the products do have measurements but a lot of other don't.

  • Product Dimensions

Well I've been thinking I'm going to get a system to put in my kitchen. I was thinking about probably getting an old Beocenter unless I see a BS1, Century or overture turn up stupidly cheap on Gumtree or a local newspaper listing or the like. (I really want something with a tape player) Anyway, to cut to the chase, I was looking through some

  • Re: Beo4 Query

I did a forum search and thought I'd add to this old unanswered thread rather than start a new one. Similar to the original question, I was wanting to reassign the 'Aux' function to the DVD button. I've recorded all my films to an external hard drive on my Mac so to play DVD's now means switching the BeoMaster to Aux so that it picks

  • Re: Pro-Ject Record Box USB

You just need to connect your amplifier to the computer (via the headphone socket or the like) rather than the turntable itself. Turntables have a much lower signal level than the outputs from an amp. Then you can either just record with bog standard editing software, snipping it into sections and saving. Alternatively, there's some custom audio

  • Re: HELP!!!!!! PROBLEM WITH AUTOMATIC FUNCTION FOR RECORD PLAYER ON BEOCENTER 2200

I always thought that the layout of the 2200 was great, and when not in use, it looked great. It's just such a shame that the build quality was shoddy compared to the rest of the line. If you're willing to accept it as an entry product though, it's a great system and it was my first purchase. If you are a first time buyer, the odds are that
