Graham are you aware if these philips caps can be sourced in the UK, other post's in the forum suggest that most of the time only the philips specific ones will do the trick ? Thanks Steve

Jan, looking at the board with the diode signal processor and the ribbon connector on the bottom right I assume C2103 is the 16v 33uf just to the left of the TDA ?. should the 47uf and the 22uf Electrolytics also be replaced ? Thanks Steve.

Gent's as usual thanks for the quick reply, can someone tell me the location of C2103 on the servo board, unfortunately I do not have a workshop manual, but will try and change it tomorrow and see what happens. Many Thanks Steve

Hi all, im resurrecting this again, I posted a message at Easter re a dead 5500. Birgerbum gave some advice about cleaning he laser (thanks) to reiterate what happend, I bought this sometime as working ( the seller said it was tested ok before dispatch and I have no reason to doubt his honesty) Any i decided to keep it. Hi All and happy Easter, Some years ago i bought a CD5500 of ebay. I live in North Wales (UK) although this was sold as 110v operation (it has a large 115v sticker on the rear). The bloke who I bought it off seemed quite genuine and stated on the advert that the sound was excellent etc.... Anyway it arrived plugged it into a 110v step down ( not 115v

Can some please tell me how I can get the ipod to work the the Avant 32 (VCR). I have connected the audio into the top sockets (behind the clock) but I can't seem to configure the input from the setup menu. Many Thanks Steve

Thanks, now sorted, i did use the coloured buttons on the top to change A.V sources, ive now lost the digital text functions as they use the coloured buttons but not too worried about that. Cheers Steve

Just bought one of these off ebay fro £30 brand new. I have read the thread on it and it seems to be fine however, If say im using the DVB ( which is none B&O compatible), then I want to switch back to normal analogue TV ( yes i know why would I want to do that) I cant or don't know how to switch the inputs on the philips prestigo. I have
