Hi all

Fabulous to find this great forum.  I just moved to California and had my beautiful Beocenter 9000 and Penta towers shipped from Canada in the original crates.  Everything works fine but the CD door won't open when you press Load.  It tries and opens about 1/16" and then just hums.

Does anyone know how to manually unlatch the CD door or is there a diagram on how I can open the system up to see what is blocking the door?

Under the front lip of the unit, in the vicinity of the door is a hole. You can use a screwdriver through the hole to manually drive the door through it's sequence from closed to open and back again to closed.

There is a diagram in the service manual together with full details on how to open the machine for service. The service manual is available to gold members of this forum.

That did not seem to do anything.  I think I need to open the case and check to see if it is jammed.  I have a service manual but cannot seem to figure out how to open the system to service it.  Does anyone know which screws to take out to flip the top open on the Beocenter 9000 for service?

There are 8 - the 3 at the front and 6 on the top at the back once you have moved the grille - if you have the sevice manual they are pointed out - section 6-1 in the 9500 manual.

Got it - Thanks.  Is it difficult to remove the grill??  Any magic to it?

One screw under the lift up flap and slide the grille to the right.
