Product Configuration Guide
Have you ever wondered how some members seem to be so clever and know everything about Masterlink? Do you too want to impress your fellow Beo enthusiast and make the girls faint at your prowess? Your chance is here! The Product Configuration Guide Software is available for download! Many thanks to Steve Boxall for trying out the link and to Puncher who thought of the idea ! For Gold and Silver members, go to the User and Service Guide section, and to Music Systems/Beolink Products/Product Configuration Guide Download the file and then change the last three letters from pdf to exe The software is a little temperamental - it is a B&O product! - but is extremely helpful. The only bad news is that it doesn't work on a Mac - so I cannot use it! Therefore you can all correct me when I get the answers wrong!

Re: Product Configuration Guide
Strange! Had one reply that it was! Did you remove the pdf and replace it with a .exe - also try putting a space between Product, guide and configuration!

Re: Product Configuration Guide
can confirm that it installs ( albeit a bit slowly ) and works on my Windows XP laptop, it is worth the effort, as it really does spell the config when using masterlink in different link rooms with different kit

Thanks again Peter, have downloaded the updated version and installed it with no problems. By the way in case it helps other users I am running this on a laptop running XP SR2. Please let me know what problems others are having and I will certainly do my best to help Steve

Hi sergi0,
i found the software here but i can't let it run, after installing it gives me an error stating that the win16 subsystem doesn't have enough ressources to run BOCONFIG. Click on OK and restart computer
The computer is 32Bit XP SP3 incl. all MS patches.
Maybe Peter or Keith have any hints for this problem?
Regards
Ralph-Marcus

I suppose you used the upper of the links (announced as "latest")?
Just
tried it on my laptop (32-bit Vista) and it works fine without any
tweaks, but you need to run the installer as administrator.
Obviously
the installer needs to finish without any errors. If it did, but you
still get the above error, you might try to run it in Win95
compatibility mode, or something...
The actual program seems to be
ancient (it's probably a 16-bit program predating even Win95!) and they
have just added a more modern installer and updated the product info. The user interface is terrible

Re: Product Configuration Guide
Downloaded, it works fine.
And I found a very interesting point, according to the "conclusion" thought only the TV show cheaters used that term... The BV10 can provide Beolab 5's with source data in a masterlink setup with the Beolab 5's connected to the BV10, thus enabling them to listen for the spdif input when in speaker mode 2???
Anyone can confirm this?

Re: Product Configuration Guide
I could install the program on my Win7 System without problems. But I cannot start it because it says it is not compatible. Seems windows requests a 32bit or 64bit version...

If you have the 64-bit version of Windows 7, it will not natively run these old programs. It lacks the 16-bit subsystem completely.
You could install some virtual machine software, install some older version of Windows in that and try that way - but frankly, it isn't worth going through hoops just to run the PCG.

Re: Product Configuration Guide
I installed the newest version and it installed well without any errors but it gave me the mentioned error.
The problem was Win XP itself: After hibernating the machine the last 2-3 months and no restart during this time it was just time to boot the whole machine and tadaa! The Product Configuration Guide started well and run quite smooth but the user interface is really terrible [:'(]

Re: Product Configuration Guide
thanks a lot for the link I was not able to find... shame on me ;)
I confirm that you have to run a 32 bit OS in order to use this tool. I use it inside a virtual machine and it works well!
but... the interface is so 95!!!! incredible ;)
