Now there's a stand up pose too end our day of audition of sound, inspection and a little picture art for the RL's and the
Dual BeoMaster 4500's that powered'em. Ummm don't you guys kinda think Ev's beomaster (the one I'm holding) has
retrieved its stellar look NOW do to the immediate and personal background? I kinda do
A colorfull team, I like that! Have you been checking Todd, if your's really is a two-way version, I mean, has it been tested? I 've got three of those machines with S/W 2.1 but none of them does not seem to work two-way with my Beolink 7000!
Well I guess my first question would be why in the world would B&O officially print s/w2.1 on the 4500's but they not work? The 2nd...
Leslie, how can I test it? Thats a good question"
Well that makes things very interesting... On Todd's 4500 there is even an extra sticker that says "two-way terminal"!
Leslie means testing it with a two-way remote, 5000/7000

Have these stickers on the rear side as well but still no 2-way coms.
Indeed, testing with Beolink 5000/7000!
B&O item 1, B&O item 2, B&O item 3,...................B&O item 735
Beovirus? What's that?

So if you don't own a beolink 5000 or 7000 too test something that supposed too be a manufactored feature; does one have too
purchase one of those or borrow I guess if thats a possibility. Now does anyone know if this problem is only w/preowned 4500's and if so why? or what
was the performance status origionally SW/2.1 when they were new?

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
There is a possibility that mine have a defect Todd, but I read somewhere that if you use a camera and point that to the Beomaster you will see some led's lighting up when pressed on a remote (Beo4). Don't know the details, maybe someone else could give some light?

Check this
Not sure if a Beo4 or Beolink 1000 can be used, but it's worth a try

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Leslie: I read somewhere that if you use a camera and point that to the Beomaster you will see some led's lighting up when pressed on a remote (Beo4).
Not immediately; the Beomaster won't send anything back after receiving a command from a one-way remote, as those obviously won't need an answer. However, after the "airspace" has been idle for a while, it will send a status update in case there are any two-way remotes listening.
Change something on the BM (input, volume, whatever - shouldn't matter if you do it with a remote or from the front panel), leave it be and keep the digital camera pointed at the Beomaster. You should see the IR leds flash at some point later (takes about 5 seconds of idle time for example on my BM6500 and a BC9500). Easiest to spot in a dark room.
I don't know where the IR transmitters are on a BM4500, but most probably somewhere under the front edge.

Re: RL60.2 Refurb Collaboration
Brilliant thinking gentlemen!!
And I have good news!!!!!
Not one, not two, but four transmitting diodes!!!
On a side note, this shot took a few tries! Very hard to time. The status update occurs approx 9 seconds after a status change.

O.K. Gentleman, Evan; Tell me if I'm following this... The lighting up of those 4 diodes mean that the 2way on my 4500 is indeed
not defective but are signaling they are infact A OK or am I jumping the gun?

Well Leslie you gave me a little scare there for a moment but your reading about that use of a camera point to the beomaster and mika's picking up on it and giving us the details was like Evman said...Brilliant Thinking! Yes I'm thoroughly at ease! Thank You!
