tournedos: The physical size will have as much to do with the voltage rating as the capacitance. Those original SMD cans in the pictures will be good for either 0.22 uF / 63 V or 22 uF / 6.3V - hard to tell from the pictures where a decimal point is and where one isn't...
Exactly as what my colleague here at work told me, thanks for the explanation Mika!

I was also not sure, wether they are 22uF or 220nf... so i decided to unsolder the next working BL7000 and to measure it.
They are 220nf.
But there is no real problem with it, they work also with 22uf. But 220nf is easy to replace by a 220nF MKS styrol SMD cap, bipolar. Looks much better and no problem with the metal shield, they are much smaller than the elctrolyth caps.

Okay, received Gary's (Beofile7) BL7000 today by post.
Hopefully I can fix the " No contact" issue
Did it before with 4 others.
Please have mercy with critical comments cause I'm not an electronic nerd

Some nice work there Leslie. SO I take it the BL7000 does not like the tantalum substitutes...?
Anyway, thought I would just mention one thing - good you are wrapping up these things to protect but just a caution those pink anti-stat bags do not protect against static believe it or not, they only guarentee not to generate any! Just thought I would mention just in case!
I can only hope to get my hands on one of these remotes along with an all black BS7000 and BL5's someday Am I pushing my luck, I guess I am loL!

Hi Olly,
Protection was ment for scratches
I know this is ESD plastic but I've used it more for keeping the springs in place.

OMG
MGO
GOM
Fantastique !!!
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

You are a genius! I cannot thank you enough. You have truly made my day. I owe you big time.
Just to clarify? It was just one dead cap? Which one?
Gary.

To be honest Gary, I don't know![:'(]
As said before, I'm not an electronic nerd, just handy with a soldering iron....
Just put new ones in and usually the 22uF SMD's are gone.
Please give me you adress by PM and I'll send it back to you.
Don't thank me, it's just a pleasure seeing these Icons back to (2-way) work and it keeps me of the street

UPDATE:
I have received the BL7000 back from Leslie and it now works a treat.
2 way comms with BM 7000, BG7000, BGCD7000, BC7000, BV6000MkII, BC7000VHS, DVD1 all though Penta II's, fully restored. Ooo and LC2's.
I am a happy Easter bunny today!
Thanks again Leslie.
Gary.

Good to hear Blackrix!
Have one that still does not respond 2-ways after recapping.
Maybe I should check the back-up cell.

@Leslie,
I have already replied on that one a while ago:
Blackrix:
Check the voltage of the back-up battery on the microprocessorboard.
No reply on that one yet!
