    hemenex:

Out of curiousity, is your BM3000 a 104 or a 108 MHz one? There's a thread about that IIRC. Most of them, especially the later ones seem to be 104 only. I just got a hold of a 108 one that says series 1 on the label.

I found another picture of a failed grey ROE (from a BM1000)

And - it's amazing how the thread almost doubled overnight - at least over MY night Big Smile

I remember that thread. Mine is a 108 and from sieres 12. Do you know how I decipher the year from my serial number?

    Progressing well I suppose!

    Hi,

I repaired a similar Beocenter 3500 a while ago (here) and with new components it sounds just great.

I finally replaced the output capacitors, but it made no difference to the sound quality.

I still have to solve the phonostage noise on one channel though.

With the new SP12 it does sound superb!

I'm sure your 3000-2 will too!

    Also look here and there!

Hello Chartz, I remember your thread very well - wishing that I could have been working on mine when you repaired yours! Laughing

    Very good and interesting work.

Looks like the BeoCenters have much more room inside to work!

    Yes - thumbs up

Well hopefully Mouser gets around to sending me my order!! This is getting to be a bit ridiculous...

At this rate, it will be another year before I can listen to my 3000 again... Super Angry

When I ordered the parts I checked to make sure all were in stock - and they were. Looking over the most recent mail (July 4th) I have estimated ship dates in late July, August and even December!!!

What a mess, copy your list to Martin, to check prices, and if nearly same or better, cancel Mouser and buy with Martin, I am waiting to place an order with Mouser for the first time, and this is bad news.

    Re: Snap crackle pop! [:(]

Good afternoon everyone! I'm sure all of you have forgotten about this project, I know I have!

I am happy to report that my order of capacitors has shipped - FINALLY!

This has been a thoroughly ridiculous wait but has actually resulted in a very timely schedule, this quarter ends next Wednesday and if all goes well, I will get my caps soon after. This project will be finished during winter break!

    I'm amped!! Are you amped??!!?!

    TIME TO GET AMPED!!!!!!

I think that's a reasonable goal, Leslie. But don't start on your collection pieces first - instead, practice on disassembling some old junk. I will do my best to inform, but experience is the best teacher.

Yes it is an oldie, I think I have dated it to 1971!

Those MC 1200 are very interesting, look like they are in decent shape too!

I must warn you that many members of Audiokarma are a little hostile against B&O. Have been trying to convince them that they were/are evolutionary in design and specs, but they seem to ignore me when I examplify with Beogram 4000/Beolab 5000/Beomaster 4400/Beosystem 8000...

Leslie, If you are interested in conventional audio in addition to B&O, that is the place to be.

Hi Jacques, and no - I don't have my parts yet Sad. Plus with my study load, no progress would have been made anyway.

Read my BM 900 repair for dummies like me. but first solder something to get used to a solder iron. Then start with a speaker crossover.

    To each his own, right?

Audiokarma members aren't any more hostile toward B&O as some Beoworlders have been hostile toward, say, Nakamichi cassette decks.

    Current primary listening:  SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70
