    Re: Snap crackle pop! [:(]

So last night during the listening session with my new CDs there was a light audible 'pop'. Only a single pop, and it continued to play brilliantly. I chalked it up to the old 5kuF power cap yet to be changed. Then this morning I flip on the unit and all my lights are out!

One step forward and one step back.

    Blast.

With my order of caps I bought a set of lamps that seem like they will work, but they are yet to be tested. Will update on this this weekend.

    Oh dear! Bummer!

Evan, don't get depressed, it's got to be a stupid thing like a bad solder, or s bad contact inside the fuse box, or God knows what. I'm sure it's not anything serious.

    Cheers,

    Jacques

I get more and more convinced to do as Eugene, when the unit is open "do it all", my BM 2400 I opened 3 times now, if I done everything the first time it would have saved me a lot of work.

My BM 4000 has some distortion in the left channel, but as I still have to change some presets, I will wait until I have my Bvox 3702 ready.

Beosound 3000, BL 4000, BL 8000, BG 2404,BG 5000, BG CD50, Beocord 5000, BM 901, BM 2400, BM 4000, BV S45, BV 3702. There is nothing we cannot do, but a lot of things we don't want to do!!

Indeed, my friend, indeed. And how many times can you pull and push those looms back I wonder...?

With my small experience, 2 times, 3 times and you will have to have your solder iron hot and ready Laughing

    Cheers,

Im not too worried, Jacques. Its weird, though. My signal strength meter and the power indicator went out simultaneously. Which I suppose is a realistic fault if they are connected in series or powered from the same source.

Im going to wait to diagnose until after all of the next load of components are in.

Technically I have never closed up my 3000. So, in a way, I am doing it all! Laughing
