What remote control do I need for a BeoVision?

I've got a BeoVision Avant and a MX4002, and one of the Beo4 remote controls has died - kids & coffee :-(  So I need to get a replacement for one or other of the tellys - do I need to just get another straight-forward replacement Beo4, or are there alternatives that can be used? And are there any compatibility issues that I need to be aware of? Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should be looking for?

    Thanks.

You can use a Beolink 1000, usually half the price used compared to used Beo4.

I agree though a Beo5 would be another option if you want a new toy for the Avant. Useful if you use satellite and have an audio system as well though it does take a little getting used to. The Beolink 1000 is excellent and is also child proof! Some functions will need learning though and if you have a linked VCR to the 4002 some of the controls may not be quite as easy as the Beo4 that you are used to.

I agree with Peter, the Beo 5 does take some getting used to, I still reach for the 4 to be honest!!

Thanks for the suggestion - I hadn't considered the Beolink 1000 as an option.

Thanks for the reply - the Beo5 might be too much for what I need right now, so the Beolink 1000 or a Beo4 will probably be my choice.

That confirms Peter's view, many thanks - so it's a choice between a straight Beo4 replacement or a Beolink 1000.

Do be aware, that the Beo4 your kids killed, may well be repapirable!
