In the dutch forum I've read that Beotime will be released in July and my dealer told me it will cost about 300 - 350 Euro.

just chique b[l]ack-light and the casio's did not have a turnable display function...:-)
no buttons just touch........................like in the good old B&O days !
if really 300 to 350 then I will be a customer and trade in my jacob jensen alarm for it.

- will it have some kind of "low battery warning"? I think this would be necessary, as it is NOT funny when it didn't wake you up because of dead batteries ;-)
Yes, display 1 will show BATTERY LOW (approx. 1 week before the batteries will be empty). New batteries (3 x AA) have to be replaced within 4 minutes for the time to be saved. (otherwise, the time will have to be set)

The more I look at it and hear about it, the more I like!
I think it will be a success!
I agree 100%. But only if the price is right. I hope it's not more than 400,- Euro because I've read s.th. about 700 Euro in the dutch forum!? More live pictures, please!

If I read correctly, you need to press the remote at least 5 times to turn on a source, and 6 times to turn it off??In that case, why is it more expensive than Beo4?
Using a controller, performing multiple actions to reach a certain item in the menu... ....., reminds me of the 1st version of BMW´s iDrive !

So is it battery power only or can it have mains power? Why not rechargeable battery with the stand as its charger???
I do like it and my dealer told me it is very attractively priced

Another thing puzzles me: the left/right display change on such a design is quite useless, and just an "Iphone reminder": do people turn their Beo4 left or right? Neither, they use it vertically, which would have been so much more logical on this flute design, that could have stood up on your bedside table, like a Beo1. And take less space as well.
Good point. Vertical use should be easy to fit in this design. Not sure about the vertical position when it's not in use, though. My Beo4's are always in a horizontal position when not in use...

Few more questions:
- does it display the time constantly or only when you touch it? - What kind of backlight does it use? I hope it is not as bad as in the "Beo4 cinema"!? - will it have some kind of "low battery warning"? I think this would be necessary, as it is NOT funny when it didn't wake you up because of dead batteries ;-)
btw: I think it is a GOOD decision to use a monochrom LCD like on the Beo 4 as it requires very low power = good battery life!
Can anybody upload the usermanual / userguide of beotime?
I really like the alarm/remote, let's hope the price will be right and I will trade in my beo4.
I've sent the manual to Ignace, so I suppose he will make it available soon in the manual-download section of this forum.

I suppose it will be usefull to be able to change directions left/right, because it will allow you to choose between the left or the right side of the bed still using our right or left hand wichever you prefer, I for one will hang this thing on the wall like my beo4, besides against the wall it won't use any space at all on your bedside table ;-)
It's not an Iphone reminder imho but a serene reminder, not really usefull on my serene but more suitable for the beotime I think.
