    Beosystem 7000 (or 6500)

    Hello All,

Does anyone know the answer to this slightly odd-ball question...

What happens if u connect a 2nd CD unit (a beogram cd 7000) to the Beomaster using the Tape 2 socket (or the phono socket)..?

I'm basically fed up with only having 1 cd capacity - but yet have the option of adding a 2nd tape deck to my system - cassettes tapes being virtually extict nowadays....

would plugging in a cd unit to a socket intended for a tape 2 deck destroy the whole system/not work/blow up the beomaster etc...?

    cheers,

    Michael

No problems except that remote control won't work for the second CD player - the CD expects to be referred to as a Beogram, not a Beocord. All sources to the Beomaster 7000 use line level.

    Cheers Peter,

When u say the remote wont work - do you mean that you need to press the Tape 2 button (as if it were a 2nd cassette deck) - or u mean it wont work at all..? If not at all - how do u go about actually playing the '2nd' cd unit.. ?

    Cheers, Michael

You will be able to use the remote to switch between sources - CD, TAPE, RADIO, etc. - but you won't be able to control the second CD-player with the remote, and will have to manually operate the panel on the player.

If you are not using a record player, then attach the Beogram CD to that input. It should work though you will only get basic functions as it will behave like a Beogram, I think! I'll go and try!

It works! And I was wrong - all the remote functions seem to work as well.
