Which speakers have connection for Beovox 2500 Cube?

    Hi all,

Is there a list of which Beovox speakers have connection for Beovox 2500 Cube?

If not, I suggest we try to build such a list.

    Best regards

    Nis

As far as I know there are the Beovox 5000, Beovox 4000 and Beovox 3000

Add Beovox 1500 to that list.

You can of course just run them off the speaker 2 sockets of the Beomaster. You can therefore use them with any speakers.

Sure abt that ??, Do the cubes contain the filter or do they make use of the filter section in the box ?

If they don't have any filter build in, i don't think connecting them direct to the amp is a good idea...

AFAIK there's a cap in series, so the cubes effectively have the tweeter part of a simple two-way crossover built in and it's safe to run them directly from the amp.

The out let has a swtichover conacts, it turns off the onboard speaker tweeters, if you simply connect inline you will not do this.

As for a disadavantage, that would depend on if you site your cubes to a slightly differant location to the main speakers, becuase then you'll have too many tweeters and the image will be less well defined

If you look back at an early 1960s catalogue I have they are actually shown as the speakers of choice for the Beomaster 900K to enhance the stereo separation!

And probably to a great benefit! I have found the built-in speakers in 900K to be too directional. The sound (and stereo image) are great when you're listening at a distance, accurately at the same hight as the receiver, and not too far off axis... otherwise, you usually have to turn the bass way down - and treble up - to keep the sound balanced.
