problem with BeoVision 7-40 (DVI and Component) with Playstation 3

    Can anyone help me - I have a PS3 (Playstation 3) and a BeoVision 7-40(with HD upgrade-kit).

First I tried to use HDMI - DVI cable - but no picture.

I bought a component cable (YPbPr) and tried but no picture..

These are my setting in my B&O TV.

    AV1:

    DVD2

HDTV: DVI-I (and I have also tried YPbPr)

If I connect my Playstation in the CAMERA connection at side of the tv with s-video cable it works - but I want to have HD...

    Anyone with ideas ?!

    thanks !

    OK here's how.

    1) Connect PS3 via composite or scart adaptor so you can see the screen, picture quality poor but there you go - i.e. set sw to AV2, source as dvd2 and no HD - you simply want the ps3 image and access to the menus.

    2) Choose DISPLAY SETTINGS on the PS3 menu

    3) Choose Output medium as Component

    4) Says SCREEN WILL GO BLANK FOR 30 SECS ETC - PRESS X to begin

    5) Best thing to do is have the Component leads already connected to the BV7, usually on AV4 and sw settings to PC or V.MEM

    6)Presss X

    7) disconnect the lead from composite/scart adaptor at ps3 end and put in component lead end (into PS3)

    8) Press V.MEM or PC on BEO4 (whichever you chose to identify ps3 by)

    9) Press X on PS3

Clear as mud?  But it works...........................  all this from an £8000+ set,  but after you've done this you'll be over the moon.

im sure the ps3 has a digital output that you can connect to the tv and assign a sound device to the relevant av connections menu for DD

    Beolab 9

    Beolab 6000
    Beo 4
    Beocenter 9300

    SKY HD
    Optoma HD65 Projector
    Lintronic TT455-RT-238

Yes you need an optical to digital coax converter - with leads about £25, be sure to set the sound output settingts to Dolby Digital - I suggested AV4 because (usually) the component leads come with stereo letft and right phono.  So you've got ghe picture working?

    Solved like this I assume!
