    Hi People,

I have just gotten a beoport and I was wondering if there is a easy way to convert my Apple lossless files to something beoport understands (Without sacrify quality).

Apple lossless is a codec in iTunes, the most commonly used media player on... PCs!

Thomas seems to have a PC, as on a Mac, iTunes is used instead of Beoport, therefore he would not have to convert.

    Thomas,

In iTunes, go to the preferences and in the Import section, chose the codec you want to convert the songs to. AIFF would convert it back to the original CD format, without losing any quality.

Close the preferences, then select all the songs you want to convert and right click and select "Convert to AIFF".

All the converted songs will be added to the library itself. Sort your library by "Date added" to separate the old versions from the newer versions.

    Re: Convert Apple lossless

Well, I have converted the files to AIFF, but still Beoport is not seeing them.  Am I missing some step here ?

have moved them in the correct directory?

I do not have Beoport, so I am not sure what it needs to see them. Anyone?

Yes: convert to WMA lossless, you don't lose any quality, and works fine with beoport software.

Beoport is only compatible with MP3, WMA, and WAV files.

A little bird told me that B&O will indeed recommand that we use WMA lossless.

Not being a PC guy, can someone say if the standard Windows media Player can encode to WMA lossless? What is the approximate compression rate?

    Compression rate is approx. 56%

Windows Media player does indeed rip to WMA lossless.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.
