    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    This is my folder. I updated the firmware and the configuration on July 1th, connected to the B&O server.

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    So it looks like the firmware files in the firmware folder is update due to the different dates..

    Would anybody with firmware 1.34a please try and mail me the files?

    Thanks

    EDIT:

    The "Beo5CT.exe.config" is also needed.

    Here is my a snip of my .config file:

      <appSettings>
        <add key="WebConnected" value="y" />
        <add key="LanguageDealer" value="English" />
        <add key="CTVersion" value="1.30" />
        <add key="SetupMenuLangSyncron" value="true" />
        <add key="AppRestarterPath" value="AppStarter" />
        <add key="Beo5Usb.inf" value="1.1.12.0" />
        <add key="Beo5Usb.sys" value="1.1.12.0" />
        <add key="Beo5RevE.bin" value="1.30a" />
        <add key="Beo5RevF.bin" value="1.30a" />
        <add key="Beo5RevD.bin" value="1.30a" />
      </appSettings>

    So as you can see the firmware is also defined in this XML document.

    We will have to do some more testing to see if other files are needed.

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    I'm still a bit puzzled: When hooking up a Beo5 to the dealer network, the firmware of the Beo5 is upgraded to 1.34 and also there's a change of the configtool (at least 3 bin-files of the Firmware-directory change). So far, so good.

    But how can we upgrade our Beo5 by only just changing our configtool? A changed configtool can't "send" a new firmware to the Beo5, or can it?!

    Yes doc, it can.

    I think that when the serialisation proces is started the program wil compare the firmware level in the BEO5 with the level described in de Beo5CT.exe.config. If it is not the same then the firmware files from the PC are transferred to the BEO5.

    This is my guess how it works.

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    yes, it should work this way but how do we get the files and what files do we have to get exactly. If somebody can tells me exactly which files the dealer needs to copy I should be able to sort that out. Of course all that only makes sense if we know how to implement?

    Best regards Oliver

    You need the Beo5CT.exe.config and the files from the firmware directory. Thats all.

    Put the files on your PC (overwrite the existing files) and start the serialization. The new firmware will be loaded.

    Also got it working, just replaced the 5 files in the firmware lib, and changing the beoconfig.exe.xml file from 1.30a to 1.34a,

    That is not enough.

    That will not give you the full 1.34a firmware - there are still some things missing.

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    You need to edit the Beo5CT.exe.config and change these values:

        <add key="Beo5RevE.bin" value="1.34a" />

        <add key="Beo5RevF.bin" value="1.34a" />

        <add key="Beo5RevD.bin" value="1.34a" />

    Aha, what is missing, the remote says 1.34a as firmware release when i look in the service menu, and the 3rd party support is also working?

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    I updated as well and everything looks to work properly. Thanks to Quim as well for the info.

    In addition it solves a bug I had with software 1.30a (I did not see any reference about it).

    The bug is related to the following: if you configure the Beo5 with a third party accessory like Lutron Rania IR, after using one of the Lutron codes, the Beo5 IR Power range gets reduced, so you need to point directly to the equipment IR receiver. This continues to happen until you power off and on the Beo5, then works properly until you press any of the Lutron commands again. This does not only happen with lutron codes, I think it happens when you use a non B&O IR code.

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    I'm full controlling now 5 non-B&O devices (Philips, Thomson, Sony, Panasonic and Pinnacle) directly with the Beo5, and of course thanks to Keith's XML generator tool and his help info procedure... the beo5 works very well in all cases Yes - thumbs up

    but here is the difference with the majority of beo5 users: I'm still using the Beo5ConfigTool 1.02 with Serializer version 0.35, and my Beo5 still has the 1.20a firmware... Embarrassed  and NO bugs however !!!   the 3rd party support is also working perfectly well.

    Everything works correctly, but I've not upgrade the Beo5 firmware to 1.34a yet, and I'm not using the 1.30 Beo5ConfigTool Ick!

    I'm not sure, but I did also update my Beo5 like this when the 1.34a was released. However I was missing full support for the Lintronic box - so I could not use the CNTL_X and FUNCTION_X until I did a get update from a "online" Beo5 config tool.

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    You need some files to change in the firmware folder. Send me a PM with your mail adress and I will send them to you. Then, you need to change some values like it was explained before.

    firmware 1.34 work for me just fine!

    but i can´t control my sat receiver. when i´m in the living room, where its connectet with the bv7 it works. but if i go in the celler, where the receiver is, the remote doesn´t work. my other non b&o sat receiver in a other room doesn´t work too.

    the only non b&o product that work is the apple remote, but not correctly. what do i wrong? is it possible to get my non b&o devices to work?

    Re: Bugs in SW 1.32a ?!

    If you want control your sat receiver directly from your Beo5, without IR transmitter, you have to create an xml file with the codes of your sat receiver. Maybe you are controlling it now because it is in the PUC list of your BV7.
