Re: Sw 4.24 has now arrived for BV7-40/BS3/BV9

Also, and this will seem silly...make sure that it isn't really dark grey.  The color as shown in the catalog is darker than in real life.  Compare the frame and speaker grille to the bright parts of the stan/bracket.  I know of a casw where a customer purchased a BV-4 without ever visiting the store in person, thought he had received a silver one, suplied photos, and had to be shown comparisons of the actual colors.

    Cool

The color is totally different on the TV than on the gray Beolab 7-4.  Dealer will order a new gray one and swap them but leave the silver here until then.

I think you have got the right dark grey Razlaw.. When i purchased my Bv7 Dark grey with the BL 7-2 the frame looked grey because the black rubber coating on the BL 7-2 did reflect the frame and it looked grey. But then i changed to the BL 7-4 and the frame looked light silver because the surroundings in your room reflect the frame if you have white carpets.. Look close at the frame  and you going to see that the frame is in fact dark grey.. Compare the silver stand and the silver ALT with the  frame and then compare the S/N on back of the TV with the  S/N on the Box.

Here is three pictures of my Bv7 Mk3 set with the BL 7-2 and the BL 7-4

Then i added a real carpet and the frame faded to light gray..

Look at the huge difference in the two top pictures:

Martin, the white flash is about 8-10cm from the bottom of the screen, using PS3 games. Your suggestion will not work, as you would need to seriously enlargen/resize the picture to move the white flash off the screen.

Razlaw, what do you think of the picture on your BV7-40? Watch a high-quality Blu-ray (Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe is a good recent example) and I'd be surprised if you gave the PQ less than 9/10 :)

High definition and BluRay look stunning on the BV-7. I am sure the TV is not Gray. B and O installers both said it was not gray, but silver. The color on the TV is identical to an old BS1 cabinet we have next to it and very close, almost exactly the color of the ALT. The serial number does come back as being Gray according to B and O.

I will try to post some pictures, if everyone will excuse the mess of wires behind it. Will sort that out after the new BV7 is installed.

The dealer took the box with. They checked serial numbers howver and box said gray, serial number is listed with B and O as gray. I do not know if they compared serial number on TV to that on the Box.

I think it looks exactly like my dark grey bv7...So don´t be disappointed when the new set arrives and it´s  the same color..

Look closely at your frame and you see it´s grey i can trust you...

I have a similar photo like yours...:

I am very confident it is silver. If it were gray it should not look like two different colors. The color on the BV7 is almost identical to the color of the BS1 cabinet next to it. The two installers from B and O, who have obviously seen other BV7s, were both certain that it was silver.

I will perhaps post another picture a little later this morning when the lighting is better, i.e. brighter in the room due to morning sun.

The B and O web page has a picture showing BV7s with Beolab 7-4s in all five colors. The gray on the BV7 matches identically to the gray on the BL7-4.

Alex, I am glad you agree it is silver.

Razlaw have you even looked at my comparing pictures???Do you think my frame look grey? My TV look identical as yours if you only look, and i have a grey one. I now the difference between silver and dark grey because i own a Silver BV7-40 MK II and a BV7 dark grey one. And the difference are very small... The BL 7-4 front grill are much darker than the TV frame. And yes if the frame on your TV is almost as silver as the ALT then you got a dark grey. The Silver BV7 are lighter than the ALT.

And the BV7 picture you mention at the b&o homepage is computer rendered...

Do me a favor look very close at your frame and you see it´s not a Silver one...

Inform me when your new set arrives if you can see any diffrence...

    Regards

Beolab, yes I have looked at your pictures. I have even enlarged them and looked at them. Have you looked closely at my pictures? Bottom line is our BV7 is lighter than what your pictures show. Also, if the BV7 and BL7-4 are the same color, there would be no question about it. They would clearly match. Our BV7 is clearly two tone. We have a BS1 cabinet next to it, if you will look at the pictures. The BV7 color is virtually identical to it whereas the the BL7-4 is much darker.  As two representatives of my dealer have looked at the TV in person and have unequivocally confirmed it is silver, not gray, and another dealer who has seen the same pictures you have says it is silver, and unlike you, I have actually seen our BV7 in person I have no doubt ours is silver.
