This is good news. While BV8 could be considered as a suitable ME/MX replacement, and the BV7 takes care of Avant users, there is a big gap with no mid level (LX, BV3) sector at popular screen sizes. BV6 at 32 or 40 screen size will be my choice.

I have no problem with 10,000 US$ speakers if that is what you want - I dont. Nor do I want a 10,000 US$ TV. Yes, we all have different ideas on cost/value/etc and we can argue that concept until the end of time. What do I want from B&O? Something that I (yes me!) need or want to connect to my system - how about a few accessories!!! Bring back Beo4 light control to the U.S. Gee we all have iPOD - gimme an iPod dock with Master/Powerlink that I can control with my Beo4. How about a new keychain? I have an old one - barely works - I dont have a B&O TV or light control so 2/3 of its functionality is useless. Sure they have had some great ideas to go with great designs in the past - but give me more - something that I can look at, something that I can play with, something to enrich my life - sorry but another high end TV doesnt excite me.... we can argue the price later....... -michael

beolife:I had it on good authority that a BV8-40 will be released this year which will also have a surround sound module as an option, as for a lower entry point this will almost certainly be a BV8-20/23. They are pursuing three different levels Entry Level BV8 etc Mid Level BV6 etc High Level BV7 & above
Hi beolife, Do you have any other information the the smaller BV8, release date etc? It sounds like it could be a neat bedroom TV/ computer monitor. Hopefully it would have masterlink, HDMI etc, do you know if it will... Regards, Robert.

A larger BV8 would be good idea. In a large bedroom, 32' TVs are a bit small and you don't need all the features of BV7 as bedroom is generally a Link room. Yann.

ok, then - sounds like everyone wants new TVs from B&O. sorry, already have a TV - dont need more....and since there is nothing new or different from B&O, I will just my hard earned dollars (not that those have any value these days) and wander down to the Apple store - they will always have something I could play with.....

Loewe is coming out with a new beautiful mediacenter with ipod connection) 2) we are waiting for a new blu-ray device (DVD3 and/or beocenter 2) 3) we are waiting for beomedia 2 with increasing performance 4) we are waiting for better panels for beovision 50 and 65

Going by his comments, I would guess because it was too small?

The get the BV8-32? The problem with LCD technology is that the quality depends on the incoming signal. Connect it up to a poor analogue signal, and the display will be poor. Connect to a decent digital image and it's superb. My BV8-26 is connected as a link room TV from the BV7-40 and the quality is decent enough, even though it's not a direct signal. BTW, this thread is supposed to be about new products.

I can confirm the signal issue - with RGB in, or HDMI from my ATV, my BV8-26 performs brilliantly - fantastic image.

I dont care much about other screen sizes - or even TVs in general with the current pricing politics ... I would love wireless distribution of Audio and Video though (simply always lacking the wiring for distributing the Video signal from my BV5 to the other sets - have masterlink in place - but that's only half the story) ... And: both DIGITALLY, please ... Yes, I have loved and used Masterlink (analogue) technology for many, many years - but come on - this is the digital age now ... how long can it take to design backwards compatible DigitalMasterlink including video??? Use an open standard and give us proper usability, please! Otherwise, I too one day will have to consider Loewe's technology...

I think all we see is a half ass launch of the Beosound 5, meaning not all control options will be available at start. Then I think they replace the chassis in BC6 and BV 7 32". I also think the the Bv8 40" is coming with the same chassis as BV7 3". for those ponying down to the Apple Store. I recently read a ritic of the Ipod Touch that seems to sum it up. "Where is the wheel. The navigation seems to be a step backwards."and it is. I was playing with it for a while at the store, and I cold get one free through Marriott Points at Skymall, I couldn't describe why it didn't exite me. Where is the wheel though sums it up. What I do not like about Apple is the politic about marginal improvements. They always make you want the latest product, but do not exceed expecctations when it comes to improved functions. Think long song names that are scrolling in the display. Why wasn't that retrofitted to prior generations. Is just a software update,

Maybe you have not tried the landscape/coverfow mode. It is awsome. In a few second you can identify a song in your entire library.
