I hear a BV6-40 has been announced internally, although with no release date. I heard 'Q4 2008' though.

    Not sure why there won't be a BV6-32. I'm not sure why they just don't release a BV6-26, BV6-32 and BV6-40, as well as a BV8-26, BV8-32 and BV8-40, covering all bases.

Sorry to say that the BeoSound 5 will likely be the only purely new product. From what I hear, though, there will be many tweaks, size variations, upgrades, etc. to the existing lineup.

Wonder if I'll be able to change my Serenata to one without a Samsung logo on the front?!

Personally I would be happy to see that change, I remember showing a friend the Serenata shortly after I got it and was met with the response; "Cool, a samsung!" >_<

It is already available for some selected B&O-owners with money and class. Whistle

Any date on the removal of the Samsung logo from the Serene??.... and any possibility of an upgrade to the Serene with the addition of an 850MHz band?? The fourth band would make connectivity in the US much more solid.

I doubt that we'll see the new digital masterlink system fully launched in the next fiscal, nor will be see the BeoVision 8-40 or the 7-52 until the next fiscal. I'd love to be wrong, but it doesn't seem like those launches will roll out that quickly.

Otherwise these predictions are in line with what I know.

    Re: News 2008 / 2009

As usual it´s difficult to predict what new products will be launched as stated in the fiscal report. I hope BV7-52 and BV8-40 will be launched this season. Peter Thostrup also mentioned a new cheaper BeoVision, but I doubt we will see it this year. I´m also looking forward to see what kind of ideas the CEO have. The biggest new product for me is BS5. Looking forward to this one, hope they will release some pics soon.

Only that they will use the same platform they use for BV8. But these plans are very new! No info about design etc.

    Re: News 2008 / 2009

The BV8 is already an ultra striped-down Beovision... What do they want to remove from it to produce a cheaper Beovision? (For me the only thing that is better thant a kikinoko TV on the BV8 is its sound... If they remove that, it will just be a standard TV, not a Beovision). Maybe they will just put a B&O logo on a Samsung TV???

"Rebadging" seems to be the new way of B&O. Development of TV, Hifi etc. in India (mentioned in a german article):

    http://www.heise.de/newsticker/Bang-Olufsen-plant-TV-und-HiFi-Geraete-auf-Windows-Basis--/meldung/100639/from/rss09

Trip, if you work for B&O  you should talk to your CEO that we don't want crappy "Made in China" products.

We want "Made, designed and developed in Denmark" with the same high quality of the old products like Beosound 3000, Avant, Beosound 1, Beolab 6000, 8000, etc.

THIS was B&O and not the new Beosound 4 with quality problems, TVs with a picture quality BEHIND actual products like Sony, Pioneer etc. ...

Perhaps managers today don't understand those values anymore :-(

So, I'm hoping that the Beosound 5 is nothing from Samsung, it should be a pure B&O.

I neeeeeed to buy s.th. from B&O for christmas ;-)

I think that the new CEO will have a very different approach than TBS, who brought us such technological achievements as the Samsung logo. TBS seemed to focus on building the brand in ways that were out of synch with our core values.

A Tv made of cardboard with a  big bno Logo on it. This would be definetely cheaper.

    Re: News 2008 / 2009

We should remember that B&O product development time has never been less than two years from concept to production.  So we will continue to see TBS's mark for the next two years.  In the interim the only thing KHM may be able to do is stop products already started.  Any of his ideas would take at least until 2011 to get to market.

So, basically nothing that I would be interest in buying - even if I could afford.  As I look through my collection of B&O - and I have a few things, I find it interesting that every design and technology is years old - nothing that has come out recently (past 4-5+ years) has sparked my interest - what little interest there is quickly disappears when I look at the price tags - I guess spending 10-20,000 US$ for a pair of speakers or a tv is just such as huge turn off.

Show me something that will excite me - I can handle (maybe) expensive if it is worth it - but the key is VALUE.

.... I guess I will have to wait til next year..... or buy some more Apple stuff - they get it.

Value is different things to different people. When you compare BeoLab 5s to speakers that cost twice as much, they mop the floor with them. I'd say that's a value.

If low prices are what you're looking for, I don't know what to tell you!

    Re: News 2008 / 2009

I have to agree with Trip here: the BeoLab 5's are an excellent value in their market segment.  I'll disagree with Trip now: I think the BeoLab 9's are also an excellent value.

I simply cannot imagine anyone who could afford an M-B AMG S63 looking at the McLaren SLR and saying, "Oh, well that's simply not worth it!"  "Can I afford it?" yes.

I had it on good authority that a BV8-40 will be released this year which will also have a surround sound module as an option, as for a lower entry point this will almost certainly be a BV8-20/23.

They are pursuing three different levels

    Entry Level BV8 etc

    Mid Level BV6 etc

    High Level BV7 & above
