Hi, I'm very interested. Are they in white or Rosewood? Are there any tears, snags or other cosmetic problems with the grilles? Are the grilles glued on or attached by pins? Interrogation over now! Cleve
Surprisingly, S45.2s will work
I'd second that, Peter, although not so sure about the 'surprisingly'. If your rooom is small, they are possibly a better bet. Another option, although not strictly contemporary, are the MC120.2/S120s. Although this reduces the power available from the BM because of the

I almost forgot it was the last day of the month, so I was a little late in logging on. Congratulations to all the winners Cleve
No of course it is relatively rere and much admired. Tim's piece on How rare is it sums things up nicely. If no-one wanted it when it was new, does it become better when it is old and rare!
I understand its failings, but I remember at the time (the late eighties) just how stunningly different and clean-lined
I wouldn't be surprised if a nice example like the one on Ebay sells for 2-300 UK pounds to a collector somewhere. Leslies with the original box and WB10 maybe a couple of hundred more. They are getting rare, they were not the most sturdy portable machines and most of them has lived a hard life. Martin
I

I'm thinking of buying a pair of Sennheiser HD 650s. However, much of what I have read suggests using then with a separate headphone amp. For a variety of reasons I would prefer not to go down that route and also none of my local dealers hold the 650s in stock so I can't test them with such a headphone amp. Has anyone experience of using these

I know the Beosystem 10 is viewed poorly by a number of members, and these views are echoed by Tim Jarman in his book and on 'Beocentral'. I feel I should defend the much maligned piece. I've owned mine since buying it new in the very early 90s and it has performed as a portable radio and occasionally as a sort of tuner/amplifier in a small
I am not overly wealthy and B&O is very expensive, but I love the design, ... Where I may not be able to afford new, I go with classic components from a bygone era. I am a recovering audiophile.
Well John, I think I fall into both of these categories. Having owned B&O on and off for 40 years now, the 'off'

Paul,
how does the BG 1700 with an MMC 20CL or a BG 5000 with an MMC 2 compare to some of the new audiophile turntables that you see at the upscale showrooms? Do you think matching some full speakers like the Vienna Accoustics Beethovens or a nice pair of totems will improve over what we used to match those turntables with
