Fantastic setup! I actually like the 4000 better than the 4400! Such a classic... and the S45-2... no better speaker for the $ -period!
Re "S45-2... no better speaker for the $ -period!", I have to agree there is something absolutely special about this speaker. I own several fantastic (and somewhat

My favorite vintage B&O product is the one i use on a daily basis... a Beomaster 4000 and s45s-2 speakers being driven by a DAC / Airport / iTunes combination.

Ohh... a beomaster4000 tuner-preset cover... I thought that was only a myth ;) --e

I recently was grappling with a similar situation with a beomaster 4000. In the end (with help from this group) I went with a set of matching rosewood s45-2's and haven't looked back. The synergy of the older beomasters and these s45-2's is incredible. I currently have an airport express with external DAC as my input source and am finding

Thanks to Simon and Peter, I now have a new set of mapleshade golden helix speaker cables connecting my gear. An inexpensive, but significant improvement to what I had previously. Thanks again! --e

I'm interested in replacing my speaker cables in a beomaster 4000 / beovox s45-2 setup . I have the speaker wire, but what I'm looking for are the connectors specific to my receiver / speakers setup. The connectors on the beomaster are the male / spade ones I occasionally can find on ebay, while the ones on the speakers are... well, more specific

burantek: oops, jumping in here late... the s45 is my absolute favorite all-around speaker for the $! you can do a search for me and s45 comments if you like, no smoke here! (somewhere, i *believe* i referred to them as the best bang for the buck of all b&o!) in fact, i run my 3000/4000/4400's thru them and they are just truly a great sound

Peter : Have you found the old catalogues yet? - I think they alone are worth the silver membership - took ages to scan! Err... not yet. Where do I find these?! --e

Friedmett: I too agree that S45-2's are truly great sounding speakers. Well I finally got the necessary 5 DIN to RCA cabling in place to give these a listen. The FM receiver on this amplifier is fantastic, but its tough to really gauge a system from receiver alone ;-) I wasn't really expecting much as at this point as I'm simply using an
