  • Re: BeoCom 6000 International Compatibility

I have used a US set (handset + base) in the UK, worked fine. BUT!!, US handsets do not work with base stations outside the US!!!, they do use same frequency but different modulation technique. Wiring is no problem, See an other post here in the forum from Keith. Regards Peter

  • Re: Review of Beocom 6000 Pyramid Base Wiring Connections

Hi You need a special splitter piece from beocom as shown by the posting Keith made in this thread. So there is one cable coming from the base station into the splitter. On the other side, one goes to the power adapter and one goes to the telephone connection. Peter

  • Re: beocom 1 versus beocom 6000

Hello Keith Follow up question on difference in chargers and related voltages. So MKI charger/base station ( Beocom 6000) uses a 7.5V adapter and will only fit a MKI Beocom 6000 handset A MKII charger ( Beocom 1 in US, Beocom 6000 MK II in Europe) uses a 5.6V adapter. It will fit both a MKI and MKII handset. Now the questions: Do both MKII and MK I

  • Re: beocom 2 base station registration issues

Hi Bazza, You are right the 3 way adapter is just a cable splitter, nothing to do with dsl. So al long as you make sure you use a cable between the 3 way adapter and the 2 pin connector that connects the two middle 'pins' from the 3 way adapter to the 2 pins on the wall socket side the wiring is ok. I things do not work with the above you have

  • Start of a compatibility matrix for beocom handsets versus base stations

Hello, Puzzled by the various rules and restrictions on what can pair/connect with what I started a what I call compatibility matrix. The FAQ on this topic is a very good start but still leaves a few holes. I have not taken into account the compatibility between the different country versions, that might well be the next step. I would like to invite

Great diagram Keith, One caveat, the phone plug wiring in your diagram is for the UK. In US( and I think Europe adopted the US wiring) pin 3 & 4 a are used for the phone signal wires and pin 2 & 5 for the earth and bell signal. In most cases it is just a 4 pin connector. This I think is breaking up people when they move from UK abroad and bring

  • Re: BeoTalk 1200 / BeoCom 6000 Power Adapter RJ11 Wiring?

Hi Greg, Did you ever got this sorted? I managed to do this for my 1200 and 6000. Bought RJ11 plugs on ebay together with crimping tool. I had to change my 110V adapters for 220V ones (which I also found on ebay) Used a voltage meter to determine to polarity from old and new to figure out the correct wiring connection. Regards Peter

  • beocom 1 versus beocom 6000

Hello, I'm not sure when but I noticed the change in name 6000 to 1. Is this just a name change or did the features and functions change too. More important the pstn base that comes with the current beocom 2, can (US) beocom 6000 handsets of about 5 years old connect to them? Regards Peter

  • Re: beocom 2 base station registration issues

I think I understand the 'config' Lets focus on the wire from the 3 way lead plug to the linksys phone adapter. What is that for type of adapter? Is that a broadband dsl filter. If so did you by any chance bring that with you from the UK? If so replace that with a 'local' spanish version. That might help. What type of connector sits

Hello What type of cable are you using to connect the base station to the 'network', i.e. the telephone connection socket in the wall? Regards Peter
