Start of a compatibility matrix for beocom handsets versus base stations

    Hello,

Puzzled  by the various rules and restrictions on what can pair/connect with what I started a what I call compatibility matrix. The FAQ on this topic is a very good start but still leaves a few holes.

I have not taken into account the compatibility between the different country versions, that might well be the next step.

I would like to invite all who have some information, comments, suggestions and corrections to help to make this information as accurate as possible.

Here is the first draft: I am looking in ways to add the part numbers of each item to avoid any confusion and make it easier to identify the type of handset/base station you have.

A huge undertaking for what should be a straight forward job. Difficult to think how to to simply add part numbers when each version of handset is/was available in a choice of colour and therefore unique part number.

Just a thought, in addition to software compatability, you will need to factor in which BeoCom6000 handsets work with which chargers.  The very original wall/table chargers were not pyramids.  The pyramid charger has also undergone an update and the current handets won't charge on older chargers.

Confused? You will be. Perhaps someone better clued up than me gan give you a heads up on the relevant part/serial number breaks to add some detail to my initial observations.

Wait....whats this - a compatibility matrix, by type number !!!

Also - there is a nifty little kit - see Keith Saunders various threads - that allows MkII functionality and keypad layout to be added to MK1 handsets, but retaining the older style chargers - a good way to update a couple of old Bcom handsets with a new Beoline and new handsets.
Hope this is what you want.
    regards
