Hi Haven't used my beogram 4000 much for about 6-8 months now but having finally gotten my vinyl sorted out (i.e. put them out so that I can get to the records easily) I thought I'd give it a whirl. Well the good news is that it all still works. The bad news is that the tone arm seems to lower very slowly onto the record and then it takes ages

Very helpful - thanks very much. I just wanted to be sure there wasn't something specific that I should go for - common sense told me there wasn't, but always worth checking!

Can you use surgical spirit? Or is that a no-no?
