I just installed a new 9V battery into my CD terminal just for the heck of it and aimed it at my CD 50. Lo and behold, it responded! So as it turns out, I do have the optional infra red sensor in my CD 50 after all! I did pretest the remote by using a digital camera and apparently the battery was stong enough to send a signal, but too weak for the Beogram

Recently, I had the two mid bass drivers refoamed on my Beovox M100s. One came back with both copper wires attached to the cone broken. Luckily I was able to save this one by carefully soldering the wire ends together. However, the other driver (though it looks fine on the outside) makes a buzzing noise when driven at louder volume levels or when there

Pentas are great speakers. As the others said, watch out for possible amp problems and foam rot, especially if they are the Mk I or even Mk II. It seems that most if not all Pentas Is that I have seen (on ebay) have had foam rot issues if the foam hasn't already been replaced. I have also seen some older Pentas with malfunctioning amps. Okay. I removed the cover and inspected the area behind the window. I am thinking it doesn't have the sensor. There is one brown wire connected to a circuit board, but I am not sure if it goes to the display or to an infra red sensor. Here is a photo I snapped...

Yes the green light flashes when a button is depressed and I determined that the remote is sending out infra red signals with my digital camera. However, I am trying to determine whether or not my CD 50 contains the optional infra red sensor unique to this remote. I figured that it could possibly be be present in the machine but is not functioning.

Hey guys, A year ago, I obtained a lot of various vintage Bang & Olufsen components. One of the pieces was a Beogram CD 50. It never worked until today, when my father and I opened the unit up and found that the rubber belt had disintegrated. We installed a small rubberband as a makeshift belt to test it out. Now the CD player works fine. Also included

Hey guys, I've got a Beocenter 9000 that up until now worked fine. A few days ago, I noticed that the "AUX" "CD" and the "2" in "TAPE 2" lights were dim. Then, yesterday, all three of these lights went out completely. When I turned the system on this morning, all three displays worked normally. I opened it

Hi toblerone, I recently restrung the sliding door mechanism on the cassette side of my Beocenter 9000. When I recieved it, the white strings for the cassette door had been removed. The easy part was opening up the cabinet! Fortunately the CD door strings were intact so I could use them as a guide. Even so, it took my dad and I about 4 or 5 hours to

I'm 20. Interesting age distribution; I would have guessed the average age being somewhere in the forties. Maybe the younger beoworlders are just more prone to adding to this thread! Aaron

Can someone please post a link to Die_Bogener's write-up on upgrading the BM5500, 6500, and 7000 preamp? Thanks much, Aaron
