  • Re: A consideration on BL2

Alex, Is that equally true whether the PV1 is connected to the DTS or to the Speakers? It seems from what a lot are saying that the BL2 is more of a home cinema product and doesn't do both jobs properly just the DVD role. I am still wondering why that is but its beginning to appear that it is not fast enough at the levels listeners need it to be

  • Re: A consideration on BL2

Thanks Peter & Britpop for your insights. These comments do seem to pick up on the boominess that others referred to in other threads. What interests me is why that is and why it seems out of phase on some music tracks. It would be good to rule out the difference between connecting the bl2 to the fronts or to the DTS. Other than that being the cause

  • A consideration on BL2

Well the only thing I have discovered recently is that I have gone off the BL2 for music! At low levels it is great and adds in my view. At medium volumes it is OK, but at higher volumes it is just not right. We tried my main system (Pentas and BL2) against M100s and discovered that at good volumes, the BL2 just made the bass ponderous and out of control

  • Re: Beolab 2 Dolby Digital set-up or Dolby Pro-Logic set-up?

I am reviving this thread because it strikes me that we have a number of unsatisfactory sub-woofer questions flying around at the moment. This thread still leaves unanswered the question of the sub going through the DTS as compared with the powerlink socket of the speaker. From this thread I understand that the latter replaces the bass on the speakers

  • Re: Can I use a Non B&O Sub with a Beosound3000 and Beolab6000's.

In my complete ignorance I thought that as the red wire didn't go anywhere it was there to confuse the B&O system that it was B&O that was present -- from what you are saying, Peter, this is a one side of the stereo only arrangement. This is rather annoying to say the least. The 8000's have RCA compatibility and fire up on a signal

Does the red connection here allow the PV1 to switch on an off automatically?

  • Re: Third party subs

Dilznik -- See what you mean it is really similiar in look to the PV1 Alex -- I have always considered KEF to be a fine manufacturer of speakers. However you do not find their best on their basic lines. Their reference series is where you need to look. I was lucky enough to own just their smallest reference speakers once I think they were 200 series

  • Re: Anyone know.....?

Marcus, Take your point thought I am not too keen on having the thing on display anyway. I was hoping that it could sit where the "centre cube" of the F1000 would sit (tucked out of the way). I am not sure that many of them are that pretty. I do notice the limitations of the DeToma but as I said it was just some basic groundwork.

  • Re: Anyone know.....?

I agree with that statement Peter. I have dealt with Lee and he has delivered to Cornwall, however demo's are clearly not on. We have one B&O dealer in the County and that is a satellite of B&O Bristol. Their prices are always appear higher than those mentioned by members on Beoworld and the service is far from great. My recent dispute has

It does help if I get the description right You are correct its a B800. Yes I noticed its lack of power but I thought I saw on its documents that it had 8pin Din connectors. I must admit I liked the styling on the PV1 (but just to show you that this is not about money but more about the failure of B&O dealers to come up with anything like a service
