  • Starter set...

Hello! I am looking for a great 30th birthday present for a friend of mine. He has coveted my own beomaster 6000 set up for a while now, and I am looking for a suitable system to get him started on the slippery slope! Looking to get an amp, speakers and turntable for around £150 - CD player would be great, but I think would blow the budget to

Hi there, and thanks for the responses! It's a BM5000 tuner/amp, and it looks like a fairly clean crack, so not sure if that is the problem- the solder lines up, so I'm guessing it can just be glued. Is there anything (simple) I can do about the cutting out, or is it a job for an expert? I also managed to unhook the pulley mechanism yesterday

  • Beomaster 5000 woes...

Hello there, I recently bought a BM5000 on ebay; it was listed as spares or repairs, but I thought I would take a punt. After having a breakthrough and clipping back the motorized panel, I realized that the main board has a crack in the top right corner, where the screw goes through. It starts playing the cd or radio perfectly, before making a "ping"

  • Missing remote control

Hello all, I have recently purchased a Beomaster 5000 etc. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260377173453&mfe=sidebar I am hoping and praying that it all works, as it needs to replace my poorly 2400-2... It doesn't come with a master control panel, and there aren't any on ebay or the like at the moment. There is a

  • Servicing...

Hello there, I have noticed that my BeoMaster 2402 has developed a low pitched hum, and also the volume control has ceased to operate properly. I a sure they are simple fixes, but way beyond my basic soldering skills. I would like to get this, and the beovox speakers serviced somewhere, but don't really know where to start! I am based in North London

  • Re: General advice sought...

Thanks for all the responses! Sounds like the jobs aren't too daunting after all! Have checked for refoaming, and will certainly try my hand at a kit first before shipping the slightly weighty speakers off to be repaired. I have a perfectly good set of JBL's that I can use until then, as I don't want to cause more problems. Just seen a CD3500

  • General advice sought...

Hi Guys, I have recently purchased a BeoCenter2400-2, with BeoGram 2400, a pair of S50 speakers, all housed in a lovely MC40 Cabinet. As it was an ebay purchase, and therefore sold as seen, there are a few minor niggles that I would like to ask some advice on. I have had a few different B&o systems in the past, all with their quirks, but would like
