  • Re: MCL problem

You should be able to connect the link boxes in a chain. The boxes,as you say,are all connected in paralell. The pink wire is the supply, and the screen of the data wire is the ground return. The resistor burning in your additional box, suggests a short in that box only? Have you tried connecting the additional box singly,to see if it functions ok? The data

  • Re: MX7000 used with Sky box / vcr sound problems

Depends upon what you paid for it.If it's in good shape, and the pictures ok,you still have a super telly with much potential. The wi-fi link, not B&O kit I hasten to add, will connect up your central system, and provide stereo sound and remote control of Sky/dvd. Available from Argos for £80! Nick

  • Re: MX7000 used with Sky box / vcr sound problems

You seem to have an MX7000 intended for the German market? I think the tuner/if module is set up just for that system, and you will need to replace the module with a Pal I version. Alternatively, you could consider useing a "wi-fi" system to beam the Sky and DVD signals from the main room, the output of this device would connect via Scart on

  • Re: VX 7000 sensor

You need an MCL sensor complete to do this.It has an onboard microprocessor with software to process the vcr remote codes,a 455k ir receiver will not work alone. It's possible to make an interface to allow connection to the Scart socket.I've done this to allow the machine to be used as a stand alone audio recorder, which gives the machine a useful

  • Re: BM6000 Type 2251 ....with life of its own....

Indeed yes,but problematic with later units too I've found. It might be prudent to replace the ir receiver diode while you are at it,as this can become noisy and cause all sorts of odd "hauntings"

Common problem with this unit, but a simple mod should sort it if none of the above remedies suffice.Soldering required, but only one component.

  • Re: MX 5000 motorised stand

If your BV5000 has nicam fitted,it should work with the stand. There are no menu's for the stand with this set,you just press PICTURE then the left/right or up/down keys, depending upon which handset version you have. You also may need to programme the tv to option 1 and option 5. Regards, Nick

  • Re: MX4500

Steve, you can steer the tv via the handset, then memorise the required position,so that when the set switches on it always returns to that setting. At switch off the set returns to its central datum point. Befor e you try anything else, check the set up option. With the set in standby, press PICTURE 1 STORE,PICTURE 5 STORE.then try the stand operation again

  • Re: MX4500

There are two memo batteries on this chassis, one for the upc,and tother for the text decoder. Both are soldered to the board, but easily replaced and readily available. If your MX4500 has the nicam decoder installed, the motor stand wil also work. You can fit the later upc chip,it plugs in.This will also get the stand working. I may have spare chip. Regards

  • Re: Quick MCL question...

There's and "urban legend" regarding using MCL2a(Extra speaker kit)with the BC7700.The system was designed for MCL82,but apparently the later MCL system could be used, but some work had to be to done to adapt either the centre or the link? Safer to say use MCL82?
