A few weeks ago, I decided to enter the LCD/LED age. After a due diligence process and following a test screening at the excellent B&O dealer in my city I got closer and closer to making a jump in my decision from an initially favored 7-40 to a 7-55. The appearance of the bigger TV is "shockingly big" at first, but once you watch the picture

I would have the system checked out by your B&O dealer. When I had a complete "functional collapse" of my 3200 (nothing responded anymore), it turned out to be a harddisk controller failure ending up with a HD replacement. Hope your system only has a minor snag !

Short of a BL5, BL1 combined with BL2 is still a magic B&O combination. With 2 BL1 setups in two different rooms, I will always treasure BL1, definitely far above BL8000 / 6000 ... Mine are 6 and 5 years old, very sturdy, should last forever, so used ones in mint condition are no risk. In TV room, BL1 pair front and rear with BL2. Great sound, absolutely

My 7700 dates from 1985. I had it completely overhauled in 2005 for 400 USD... now it has many more years lease on life with venerable refoamed S45. In my view, a good condition 7700 can fetch around 400-500 USD, however, all functions including remote should be working.

I really enjoy the Beoworld forum for what it is. Discussion, passion, emotion, opinion, advice... much more. Many people are contributing to making this forum a very lively, interesting and relevant one. With a grain of seriousness, I would like to propose a vote for Beoworld Forum Member of the Year. May be our administrators can set up a vote ..

Good topic on a positive note ! My reasons for B&O 1. Style and Design 2. Ease of use / seamless integration of audio and video 3. Longevity 4. Quality and Sound 5. Worldwide service promise that works (having lived in many countries I can attestate to that) Many of the B&O users don't want to run for latest / latest technology but for systems

[quote user="TripEnglish"] I'm not sure you could argue. I haven't seen it happen successfully yet. Of course Samsung will be the panels we use. Then we'll add a surround sound processor. Then we'll add video processing. Then we'll add integrated projector support. Then we'll add a PUC to control attached peripherals

This thread is quite interesting. In intervals, the General Forum deals with different threads like "is there quality enough for money in B&O" "how much overpriced Philips is inside B&O "Beosound 5 - Bang&Olufsen's big mistake" Well, pattern is always the same. Frustration takes its course, someone declares to

Thanks for the feedback. In the end, decision will be somewhere between "emotional" and "rational"...like always with B&O products.
