[quote user="linder"] I agree that in this setup, the Beosound 5 is definitely superior. Beosound 5 is the best B&O music system especially for people who are willing to spend the money for something that works well without much effort. This is what I would expect from B&O. Its the reason I purchased a Beosound 5. I have iTunes but

[quote user="TripEnglish"] AppleTV only has 160GB on-board storage and gives priority to video. My audio along is greater so there's streaming from a "switched-on" system no matter what. Attached DACs improve a bad situation, but don't match up sonically. I don't hate the AppleTV, but google "Apple TV problems"

I'm a long term B&O fan and a Mac user since 1984. After it's announcement the Beosound 5 was planned to become my latest B&O purchase. But the lack of iTunes compatibility and some problems with early versions of the Beomaster 5 software made me cautious about buying the Beosound 5 and I kept using Apple TV. With the announcement of

Wow, the display really seems to be a problem with the Beosound 3. I'll definitely ask my dealer for "kulanz" respectively good will. Thanks !

After the first fix the problem appeared again the next day. I'm afraid that the top plate has to be changed.

OK, I was able to fix the problem. I pressed the STBY button for over 30 seconds and the unconnected Beosound 3 shot down. After I reconnected the BS3 to the power supply it started again and I had to readjust time and alarm clock.

My Beosound 3 suddenly doesn't respond to touching on the buttons except the STBY button. It seems like there is a software crash and that the touch sensitive surface is locked. Did anybody experience a similar problem ? Is there a software reset for the Beosound 3 ? Thanks ! E.

Dear Mats, your contribution is much appreciated. It matches with my concerns about buying the Beosound 5, even as a loyal B&O customer. I hope your feedback will make B&O rethink their attitude. Products like Beo5 and Beosound 5 incapacitates B&O's technically sophisticated customers AND dealers. Kind regards, E.

[quote user="evman140"] I know this is a tad late for this reply, but the thread has lingered in the back of my mind for a while. If you are looking for a media player, how about the hp touchsmart computer, you all may not agree but to me it seems like a perfect candidate. Its elegant, has 1TB hard drive, plays cds dvds and all digital formats

I have the first generation PS3 with SACD capability. AFAIK this feature was disabled in the newer versions. Does anybody know if the Charcoal Black (CECH-2000A) will play SACD again ?
