  • adding bass

hi folks: has anyone tried adding a subwoofer to any of the older B and O amps? I have a beomaster 5500 as well as a 2400-2 and would like to connect something like a REL sub. I don't know what kind of wires modern equipment need to connect to amplifiers, but if it goes to the speaker inputs with speaker wire (L & R), I can use the extra din

  • The light

I recently aquired a beogram 5000 and replaced the light bulb that illuminates the turntable. I notice that when the lid is closed, the light goes off. When I open the lid about an inch or more, the light goes on. Is there something wrong with my thinking to assume that the light is supposed to stay on when the record is playing or is it a utility light

thanks. when you say well-sorted, what do you mean? Do you think that working amps need periodic servicing? is there somethings in solid state engineering that needs replaced after several years?

  • New York City Penta owners wanted

Hello Folks: before I go investing in more b and o speakers. I was wondering if anyone in the city has pentas. If so, would you be willing to have me hear them before I take the plunge? I'd be using them with a beomaster 5500, beogram 1700 and 5000, and matching beocord. Has anyone used this amp with high end modern speakers like the vienna acousics

  • following up on the independent test

so here's my question: how does the BG 1700 with an MMC 20CL or a BG 5000 with an MMC 2 compare to some of the new audiophile turntables that you see at the upscale showrooms? Do you think matching some full speakers like the Vienna Accoustics Beethovens or a nice pair of totems will improve over what we used to match those turntables with? And

you're rights. It popped off with a gentle pry with a flat head screwdriver. I decided to remove the speaker fabric, and wondering what type of glue to use when I stretch new fabric because although it doesnt sit up agains most of the speaker, there are two grooves that the fabric gets glued into on the front of the speakers, and there is the logo

I've followed your directions and opened the first of my RL 60.2. However, the two larger speakers, although unscrewed, are 'stuck' on and I don't know how to pry them off. There are no remaining visible screws so I wonder if it's possible they are glued in? I'm also wondering if it is possible to upgrade any of the cones of

so you used two layers of fabric? did you glue them down and were you able to retain the b and o text outline? had you considered getting the kit off ebay?

  • Re: RL 45 vs RL 60.2

do you have links to the posts? they should have something on this forum where repairs and modifications are categorized so anyone can access them without having to ask the same five people everything there is to know..... I'll be getting out my screwdriver and doing this surgery myself. It can't be that hard...
