I have one also which is in mint condition. I agree the price is somewhat high. The box I have is a silver cardboard type material. The watch is great fun when visiting a B&O store. Only one time did I do this. Using the watch, I turned off a few systems. They were not amused.
Haha I had dreams of this when

Yep I've owned one of these and sold it. That price is a bit high I agree. Leslie has had them of course, like everything else. The top buttons as someone says are actually the letters V and A, not up and down. V turns on a video source, and A turns on an audio source.

I purchased a restored one from Frede, and knowing what he charges and cost of restoration, I think this one is perfectly reasonable in price. Looks to be in good shape too. Not sure what you were all expecting price-wise, but very few of these Beogram 3000s were made. These are VERY rare.

I have done tens of thousands of dollars selling ebay items, including a *LOT* of B&O, and $40-50 USD charge for shipping on a BM 4000 would be very reasonable from Washington to Texas. I also live in Washington state. It's probably more than what they spent but not much.

Thanks for the explanation that was an interesting (and yes, very strange) read. Unlike a unique color or some other aspect of the corvette you mention, a license plate doesn't garner much attention here in the USA so culturally it doesn't add up. Personalized plates are so common here no one cares. Cars that are 2 years old that look new still

It is against ebay to have excess shipping charges to avoid final value fee, which is what this person is doing. Really as a buyer what do you have to worry about? He/she can't leave you negative feedback. You can leave them negative feedback. Buying on ebay is about a safe as you can want.

great explanation! OK time to move on. Obviously this is an inside joke of some sorts. Why I bothered to ask I don't know.

OK I don't understand this (I live in the USA). How can this license plate be worth this much? Maybe this is a joke and it flew over my head!

Forget the BS3 and save your money, and buy a nice high end Onkyo. Then, use something like SONOS for multi-room audio. The BS3 is an outdated dinasour. Sounds like you are trying to build a frankensystem.

Here's a picture finally of my black Beogram 3000, restored by Frede!
