Thanks guys, that answers my question.I can live with it,this is a very nice machine indeed.

Good point.Probably more of an annoyance than actually damaging to anything. It appears to just hit the woofers. That's why they put in the relay on some models,to give it a few seconds to come up.I have only had this a couple months and it seems worse than I recall, but maybe I just never noticed. If I am not mistaken my other B&O receivers,a BC7000

My BM3000-2 delivers a substantial pop to my speakers on powerup. It does this regardless of which source is selected and even when the volume is at zero.Of course if I leave the speakers off for a few seconds during powerup there is no problem. The unit has been recapped, had the switches and sliders cleaned, and idle current adjusted. It seems a bit harsh

Thanks for the links,I knew the info was out there somewhere.I think the warmer sound of original B&O cartidge would be more my thing, assuming I can get a good one. Jaff Thanks for the offer,if I end up with a BG3000 with a defective cartridge I will look you up. Paul

I would like to get some input on a few Beogram cartidge issues that form the weak link in my vintage B&O collection. First,I own a beocenter 7000 and a Beogram 3400(the one that is similar to the 2400). Between the two of these I one functioning MMC20EN that sounds fair but has the stylus offset from center slightly, and gets pulled further off

Thanks Martin I was thinking of just cleaning the trimmers, but you are right,I might as well just change them. Paul

My service manual for my BM3000-2 says to adjust idle current for 100ma.I am not entirely clear on where to measure the current at.Can I just measure voltage across the .15 ohm emitter resistors, which would be 15mv?

Excellent work Geoff, looks very professional. Is it made from individual pieces glued together? Paul

Very nice Geoff.Like the workshop! You are way more organized than I am.I love this thread!I hope it keeps running for awhile.

This is a great thread!I was thinking of starting something like this myself, and here it is.I love seeing the creative setups of the B&O enthusiasts.I am from the USA and it's interesting to see the different styles around the world..But unfortunately I am caught off guard. My gear is not quite set up how I want it yet.I hope the thread stays
