    BM Cartridge issues

I would like to get some input on a few Beogram  cartidge issues that form the weak link in my vintage B&O collection.

First,I own a beocenter 7000 and a Beogram 3400(the one that is similar to the 2400).

Between the two of these I one functioning MMC20EN that sounds fair but has the stylus offset from center slightly, and gets pulled further off center when being played.I also have a second MMC20EN with stylus broken right off. What are my options on these?I suspect the first one has lost it's suspension. Is it end of life? Can either of these be rebuilt for resonable cost Vs. a new Soundsmith? Is an ebay purchase of a vintage cartridge also likely to be end of life?I am not entirely thrilled about purchasing a cartridge costing nearly $300 for my rather worn vinyl collection, but if that's my only choice, then so be it!

My second question is in regards to purchasing a turntable to match my BM 3000-2.I have been considering a beogram 3000 but it appears that NO cartridge is available for that one in the event that my new one be bad.Is the SP12/SP10 a rebuildable cartridge?Or should I consider a different turntable/cartridge option for my BM 3000-2?

I appologize if some of this is redundant material on the forums,I searched and wasn't able to get full clarity on this.

    Thanks

    Paul

    D'Oh! Too slow! Laughing

Well, on the other subject... I do have a pair of BG3000's with at least (1) good SP cartridge, and I believe another NOS SP cartridge as well. If you'd have an interest, I can test / take pics...

Thanks for the links,I knew the info was out there somewhere.I think the warmer sound of original B&O cartidge would be more my thing, assuming I can get a good one.

Jaff Thanks for the offer,if I end up with a BG3000 with a defective cartridge I will look you up.
