  • Re: Beogram 4004/lack of high freq's

Hi Dillen,I wondered whether the din cable or the adapter to rca's might be at fault.Unfortunately,I have no spares, and the din is hardwired,as opposed to the 8000,which has fully removable cable. The cartridge{s} play fine on the 8000,also my Beosystem 7000,so I had ruled that out.I'll find another din/rca adapter and see if that helps.Other

  • Beogram 4004/lack of high freq's

Hi, I've been trying to segregate a problem with my 4004 table.A 20cl or 20en that sounds fine on my 8000,lacks high freq's{above8k or so,according to my eq readout}.I don't know of anything that would cause this, and being in Alaska, there's not exactly LOTS of B&O techs.Even the store that used to sell them, gave up when B&O started

  • Re: lack of bass

Hi Peter, Thanks again for the input. It is a Beocenter 7000,the "original remote controlled stereo",according to Car and Driver's ad I found in one of my old car mags from the '80's!I had checked the patch cables to everything BUT the turntables,I guess I figured the odds of 3 different tables having bad cables seemed too high

Peter, That was my 1st thought as well,so I bought a brand new Phono preamp, tried it in aux in,tape in, line in, on 3 different amps, same results. The cartridges play fine on my Beosystem 7000,so it shouldn't be them. The only constant is the tables themselves, and I have the cap upgrade kit {from Dillen} for the 8000,although it is not installed yet

  • lack of bass

Hi, I'm having an interesting problem with my old turntables.I've tried switching:amps,preamps,speakers,and4 different turntables! The problem is not all the sound comes thru from turntables{B&O 8000,4004,RX2,even tried an old SL-120 Technics with SME arm and signet cart.}My other sources are much louder, radio, tape etc,as well as having

spookd: Hi,NEW member{1st post!},and it's about a beogram 8000 I just got.The tachodisc is shredded,so I need a replacement, and was thinking of" bringing it up to par".From what I gather here,Dillen is the man in that department!I don't want to violate any rules but how can I communicate with him without getting anyone in trouble?I
