    Beogram 4004/lack of high freq's

Hi, I've been trying to segregate a problem with my 4004 table.A 20cl or 20en that sounds fine on my 8000,lacks high freq's{above8k or so,according to my eq readout}.I don't know of anything that would cause this, and being in Alaska, there's not exactly LOTS of B&O techs.Even the store that used to sell them, gave up when B&O started opening"boutiques".Obviously shipping to "America"is very expensive, but I almost like this table better than the 8000.Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help,Y'all be good and have fun if you can...spookd

Well, unless you have a CD4 board installed, which I suppose you haven't, there are no
electronics in the signal path of any of the decks. So no electronics to blame.
Any sound related issues will have to be caused by cables, bad adjustments (the decks ground-up settings, such
as tracking angle, parallelism etc.) or the cartridge itself.

Hi Dillen,I wondered whether the din cable or the adapter to rca's might be at fault.Unfortunately,I have no spares, and the din is hardwired,as opposed to the 8000,which has fully removable cable. The cartridge{s} play fine on the 8000,also my Beosystem 7000,so I had ruled that out.I'll find another din/rca adapter and see if that helps.Other than that I'll have to ring out the din cable.Tracking angle and side to side settings appear to be the same as the other tables. Thanks again for your insight,I appreciate it. take care, spookd
