Update on Beosystem 2 display output: items 1, 3 & 4 of top questions are correct, thanks to Kurt for saving me hours of trial & error & avoiding risking damage. Thanks to Stefan for getting me going in the first place. Item 2, my question regarding RGB pinouts is not correct, i was reading a service schematic for older BS sockets. Can confirm

Hi Kurt, Your confirmations and information are very much appreciated, i have trawled through many postings from members having the same difficulty with a BS2 as myself, but never found a response such as yours that offers solutions to all the problems. Regards, Martin

Can anyone please confirm any of the following? 1: The menu screens generated by a BS2 are ONLY available to a monitor via the RGBHV output socket (at 50Hz) 2: The RGBHV socket on the BS2 is populated non standard - v - PC RGBHV standard inputs, if i make a conversion cable, any old CRT PC monitor should display (i have the BS service manual showing

Many thanks to Stefan for sending me a TSOP7000 IR receiver, arrived today, soldered it to a 3.5mm jack and now i can switch on my BS2. Another problem now.... the BS2 switches itself off after about 4 minutes of scart or UHF output. Have read something about pin code protection but understood no display would output? Can't get a menu to come up

Can anyone please confirm the BS2 will or won't translate 455KHz down to 40KHz to control SKY from the BS2 IR output please? I have a SKY HD box behind an Avant, bought the BS2 to be able to locate the SKY in another room and make the other room the downlink / uplink for RF. Haven't got an IR yet to control the BS2 and just started thinking

Thanks Stefan, i have found a UK supplier of B&O compatible eyes and have ordered one on approval www.adltd.co.uk they have a dual frequency IR that will work B&O and 40 KHz kit like SKY boxes, i now suspect my BS2 won't modulate B&O (455KHz) to SKY (40 ish KHz) without a tranceiver card like i think the the Avant has - so although the

Thanks mika, i would prefer the B&O but it does seem rather rare for someone to have the eye and not the TV or the device it was partnered with. My greatest suspicion of the BS2 is that the seller told me "the eye, a remote control handset and loads of cables were thrown out by the wife after the TV fell on the floor & smashed" I wanted

Thanks Keith, Farnells have discontinued the the TSOP7000, i think they are still listed to keep the spec data there. I tried ignoring "discontinued" and going for the greyed out "buy" button - can't proceed from that. Thanks, Martin

Many thanks to the forum and Peter especially for the advice so far in answering my questions on how to control a Beosystem 2 New cost from B&O for a standard eye with a 3.5mm jack for the BS2 is about £120, I have an untested BS2 and would like to minimise the possible waste of buying a new eye in case the thing doesn't work after all

Thanks again Peter, i may have found a supplier of compatable B&O receivers at http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:rrZr4QKWXhcJ:www.adltd.co.uk/adl%2520-%2520ir.pdf+%22irr-455%22+receiver&hl=en&gl=uk&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESgxiDZWNuthE01EwQJXx7X6q1eINjUXflPG5knOd-SEvs9upoXZqrhgYdY-7-WsNbmzpA9a7e4IM2zWbqNcD3Hxa36xh9om9Nhq2KSIRFvq5HkwQZLmGXI
