    Hiscox Insurance!

I am ashamed to say that tonight is the first time i have really had a good look at what Hiscox Insurance - our BeoWorld sponsors, have to offer when compared to other insurers.  After they have given you an online quote (which i was actaully extremely pleased with!), they quite openly let you compare what they have to offer with a huge drop down menu of other insurers and their own comparables.

Can i just say that Hiscox wipe the floor with the lot of them as far as i could find!   I know they are our sponsors, and of course if they don't get any hits from us they will probably pull the advertising - but for once i'd forget that and actually recommend having a look at them!!  I was mightily impressed, and have just hopped over from Norwich Union and renewed with Hiscox for the same money - with about 1.5 to 2 times the level of cover!!

Pleasantly surprised, and apparently (should the unfortunate happen and you need to..) they are fantastic at processing claims!

    Re: Hiscox Insurance!

I've certainly heard nothing but good about them.  Certainly, the number of BeoWorlders who are Hiscox customers must indicate how good they are for those with a lot of specialist stuff to insure.

However, having been given a stupily high renewal quote from Norwich Union recently, I went to Bradford and Bingly who offer a range of insurence deals through other insurers. I think they make money by getting a commision on each customer or the like.  Anwyay, their best on offer for me was hiscox but unfortunately the Hiscox system refused me.  They weren't sure exactly why, although they suspected my age (22) and total valuation (quite a bit) would be the reason.  As it is, I'm not exactly who I'm insured with now, although it would have been Hiscox - had they not turned me down - and in the mean time I've started a savings account with B&B

    Dear Lee:

Is Hiscox only in Europe?  Do they insure just B&O and other specialized equipment or they general household insurer?

    Thanks,

I am also with Hiscox now for contents and when my buildings insurance comes up next month, I will be changing that as well. Very good value and from personal experience, the quickest and most reasonable insurer should you be unlucky enough to need to claim. I was badly burgled some 15 years ago and Hiscox were fantastic and made the whole ordeal much easier.

I feel I can be more than specific on this.
I have used them for a couple of years and they are more than competative...
Monthly payments for combined house and contents.
High insured value - no issue and certainly not silly money like anyone else asks (try and insure over £50k and you will see what I mean).
    Two claims this year:-
    1. My 5 year old son flushed mummys quite valuable eternity ring down the toilet. Money was in the bank within a week.
    2. The Floods. Again, the assessor was on the spot an money was in the bank within a week. No agro, no extra stress etc...
Highly recommended, I doubt they can be beaten.
