Picture format changing up/down arrows
Hello everybody, I've found a problem inside my beo5 picture format functions: With beo4 when I'm under picture format 1 or 2 commands, I can change some parameters inside those by using the "UP" and "DOWN" arrows (3 different format1 sizes and up-down panning the format2 zoom). These arrows seem not work with my beo5... what happen with yours? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
Hi Santiago. On the picture screen, I have three options. They are 'Standard', 'Zoom' and 'Widescreen'. Standard is format 1, Zoom is format 2 and Widescreen is format 3. Andy T.

Hi Andy, Of course I have those same 3 options, and the 3 works fine, but I'm not talking about that. As usual I think I'm not able to express me correctly in English. I'm talking about the arrows options "up" and "down" INSIDE each format 1 and 2. So INSIDE the format 2 with beo4 I can "pan" the picture upside down with the "up" and "down" arrows keys and INSIDE the format 1 I can change between 12:9, 14:9 and 15:9 picture formats using the same arrows... do you know what I mean now?
Well, the problem is that using my beo5 I'm not able to control this "arrows" feature inside picture formats.

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
My fault mate, not yours There was nothing wrong with your english, I just didn't read your post properly. I see what you mean, I have the same problem. Guess you will need to either program the hard buttons or better still, add two new soft buttons in the picture screen. You could make some really pretty arrows. Andy T.

Ok thanks, because now I see I'm not alone... I've already try re-configure the 2 beo5 hard keys and also make 2 new screen buttons... exactly as you suggested Andy ! but with no success in both cases, I've not yet found the good IR code combination to do it work so irritating

So do you can use the beo5 to change the picture sub-formats in the BV7? (14:9 <-> 15:9 <-> 4:3)
In my avant I cannot get it work using the beo5.

This macro doesn't work for me. Neither "step_up" or "cursor_up". I have a computer IR receiver that can detect and show me all the IR codes sent for the beo remotes, and the most strange thing in this case is that both beo4 and beo5 are sending the same codes (14 + 201C) but with the beo5 the avant reaction is "next and previous tv channel" and with beo4 is "change the picture format 1 from 15:9 to 14:9" .

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
Hello everybody, I need help again! I'm trying to find the Beo5 IR codes equivalent to the beo4 command "A-V.AUX". I want shut off the avant screen while listening music through the V.AUX input.
I've already tried this: including "V.AUX" inside the "AV" screen and also the "Picture_toggle" beo5 IR command, but with no success
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
You will not find a code in the tool for A-V.AUX however you will have on your screen V.AUX and AV.. and if you press V.AUX followed by AV.. it will effectively give the A-V.AUX. I have checked the codes transmitted from the Beo5 and they are the same. You cannot macro it into one button click because you cannot add "AV.." and in fact any command like AV.. which gets automatically added by the tool and is followed by ".." cannot be moved to another screen without lossing its functionality..

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
Keith Saunders: you will have on your screen V.AUX and AV.. and if you press V.AUX followed by AV.. it will effectively give the A-V.AUX.
I've tried this first sequence with beo5: press V.AUX followed by AV.. and the avant screen doesn't switch off I've tried this second sequence with beo5: press AV.. followed by V.AUX and the avant screen doesn't switch off But if I use "A-V.AUX" with my beo4 the avant screen switch off perfectly well. The question now is: there is a way to switch off the avant screen while listening a video source, by using the beo5? Thanks.

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
I think we have here another one of these "timing" issues. I saw a similar problem helping another member with the "back" button on a DVD. I had checked the output from the Beo5 in terms of binary string sent and they appear to be the same, so this is another one to investigate further..

Stefan, IT WORKS!!!! You've found the key
I've added 4 different video "turn off screen" keys for 4 different video sources, so 16 new buttons which all of them works perfectly well now. Thank you very much for your help, Stefan.

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
Nice one Stefan! It seems AV just sends a video based signal to Audio and vise versa. Therfore, If I need AV in my Radio screen and my Sat screen, I can't copy it. I'll have to make to different AV 'buttons'. Glad you're sorted Santiago. Andy T.

Re: Picture format changing up/down arrows
Thanks for the kind words!
Yes, Andy, sure, you`re right. This works also vice versa. If you want to listen to the radio while watching TV it`s: 0:000:TV:RADIO.
But I`m afraid this not the answer to the picture-format question. When I look at all the picture-buttons (p.mute, variation, optimise, arro down/up, standard, widescreen....) they all show me "2" - just the number 2 (!??!). It sounds a bit cryptic (right word?) but they all work. Maybe this is a more complex question that needs a more complex answer, what do you think, Keith? I would be highly interested in a solution. But meanwhile maybe this helps:
Santiago, tell the configuration tool you have a BV 7. This will create a "Picture"-button including submenu with all the buttons mentionened before.
Copy this button into your configuration and hopefully it works like you want it - good luck.

Stefan, you're a GENIUS !! It WORKS!!!! Andyyyy !!!!!! do it, and the picture format problem will be definitely solved. The BV7 MKI picture format screen has 5 more buttons than the avant one...and it has two "on-screen arrows" which does the work I was searching. Now all this post can be labelled as "SOLVED"
Once again Stefan: THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your precious help
