Is there a Moderator in the house?

Morning all! Just surfing Beoworld and disappointed to see it being clogged with a load of nonsense from a particular user. I hope it can be edited out, or translated into proper english. Wink

But somewhat less amusing. I have banned him, removed those posts I felt were probably typed when drunk or under the influence and Lee will contact his ISP. Just a troll I am afraid.

Isn't it "loser"? "Looser" means "lösare" in Swedish. Sorry! ;-)

Re: Is there a Moderator in the house?

I am sorry to have to have taken this action as you know I dislike any shows of moderating power. I therefore will explain my actions.

Peacha had come to my notice some time ago as he clearly had a relatively low opinion of B&O. I have no problems with that at all - criticism is an important part of this forum and will help B&O as if we offer nothing but sycophancy  then nothing is gained. We have a number of members who offer such criticism and I will protect their right to complain.

However in the last 24 hours peacha become incoherent and abusive towards other members. This is unacceptable and he also started doing this on many threads in a most disruptive manner. I could see no way that this was constructive and also no way that I could rehabilitate him.

I hence took the decision to ban him permanently and hope this meets with the approval of the membership.

I think what you did is exactly what was needed to do. It's quite hard sometimes to act as a moderator, i know it as i moderate two forums too. But if you want to keep a good quality and a good atmosphere in a forum, it's also important to have a look at the actions that members do, and if nescessary reacting.

So i can totally agree with you Peter.

But rarely by me and I hate doing it. This one was the least painful though as he was abusive to other people. He also seemed to have no experience of any B&O product but was simply trying to provoke a reaction.

Some of the more critical members (mentioning no names Laughing  ) have opinions that are well worth listening to and justify their place on the forum. I will always support their right to post - and indeed have, sometimes to my cost, in the past.

Argh, don't worry, you didn't miss the fun, because it was not 'fun'. It was annoying, he posted on nearly every thread on the first page a load of nonsense

    i.e. fshjsjdgfklhjdgfijfijo;efjk

Thanks to you Peter for returning the calm coherency i enjoy most about the Beoworld forum. Nicely done

I am a forum mod too, so I know how difficult it can be to get the balance right.

On this occasion I think you got it absolutely right.
